This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.
• Evaluate patients' mental and physical conditions based on their symptoms and concerns.
• Deliver care to adolescent and adult patients, or across the entire lifespan, as assigned.
• Identify and diagnose psychiatric disorders and mental health issues.
• Differentiate between disorders based on physiological and psychological factors and provide accurate diagnoses.
• Conduct individual psychotherapy for both chronic and acute mental health disorders.
• Order necessary diagnostic tests such as EKGs, laboratory work, and other relevant assessments.
• Prescribe psychotropic medications, including controlled substances, while educating patients on associated risks, benefits, and side effects.
• Monitor medication use, side effects, and treatment outcomes.
• Assess patient behavior and their response to treatment.
• Effectively manage difficult patients and employ verbal de-escalation techniques when required.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to create, implement, and evaluate treatment plans.
• Educate patients and their families regarding mental health conditions, treatment strategies, and medications.
• Document patients' medical and psychological histories, physical assessments, diagnoses, treatment plans, prescriptions, and results.
• Complete administrative paperwork, including FMLA and other approved forms.
• Arrange and coordinate follow-up appointments and ongoing treatment requirements.
• Conduct patient visits and ensure precise documentation in the electronic health record (EHR).
• Adhere to HIPAA regulations, 42 CFR Part 2, national care standards, and internal policies.
• Utilize recommended references and seek clinical guidance from the Clinical Director and/or Medical Director.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience working as a Nurse Practitioner.
• Currently possesses a Board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner license (PMHNP).
• Experience in Addiction and Mental Health.
• Willing to obtain additional state licenses as needed.
• Experience with Motivational Interviewing techniques.
• Commitment to partnering with clients to achieve their goals.
• Experience working with adults requiring general mental health or severe mental illness (SMI) treatment.
• Comfortable and experienced in working with patients across the lifespan (ages 13 and older).
• Familiarity with mental health diagnoses and/or co-occurring substance abuse disorders.
• Proficient in treatment planning.
• Ability to conduct and apply comprehensive assessments.
• Capable of timely and quality documentation; experience with EHR systems.
• Adaptable to technology, including telehealth software; comfortable with video communication.
• Understanding of and compliance with HIPAA and 42 CFR Part 2 regulations.
• Eligible to work in the United States; no visa sponsorship or work eligibility assistance available.
• For clinicians licensed in Florida or New York, active DEA registration is necessary and must be maintained by the clinician.
• Proficiency in Spanish is preferred; fluency in additional languages is a bonus.
• Prior telehealth experience is preferred.
• Previous experience in the Community Mental Health sector is preferred.
• W2, full-time salaried position.
• Monday to Friday schedule; no on-call or weekend shifts.
• Available shifts: 9am-6pm ET, 10am-7pm ET, 11am-8pm ET.
