This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.
• Evaluate the mental and physical status of adolescent and adult patients.
• Identify psychiatric disorders and mental health issues.
• Differentiate between physiologically and psychologically based disorders for accurate diagnosis.
• Provide individual psychotherapy for both chronic and acute mental health disorders.
• Request diagnostic tests such as EKGs and laboratory work.
• Prescribe psychotropic medications, including those that are controlled substances.
• Inform patients and families about mental health conditions, treatment strategies, medications, and the associated risks, benefits, and side effects.
• Oversee medication adherence, side effects, and therapeutic outcomes.
• Assess patient behavior and reactions to treatment.
• Employ verbal de-escalation techniques for challenging patients when needed.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to create, implement, and evaluate treatment plans.
• Maintain comprehensive medical and psychological records, including histories, assessments, diagnoses, treatment plans, prescriptions, and outcomes in the EHR.
• Complete necessary administrative documentation for patient care, including FMLA and other approved forms.
• Organize and coordinate follow-up appointments and ongoing treatment requirements.
• Adhere to HIPAA regulations, 42 CFR Part 2, national care standards, and internal policies.
• Seek clinical guidance from recommended references and consult the Clinical Director and/or Medical Director as needed.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Nurse Practitioner.
• Must currently possess a Board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner license (PMHNP).
• Background in Addiction and Mental Health is required.
• Open to acquiring additional state licensures.
• Experience in Motivational Interviewing is essential.
• Commitment to working collaboratively with clients to meet their goals.
• Experience working with adults requiring general mental health and/or severe mental illness (SMI) treatment.
• Comfort and experience in working with patients across all age groups (ages 13 and older).
• Knowledge of mental health diagnoses and/or dual diagnoses related to substance abuse.
• Proficient in treatment planning.
• Ability to perform and apply comprehensive assessments.
• Experience with timely and high-quality documentation; familiar with EHRs.
• Adaptable to technology, including telehealth software; comfortable with video communication.
• Understanding of and compliance with HIPAA and 42 CFR Part 2 regulations.
• Must be eligible to work in the United States; visa sponsorship is not available.
• Clinicians with a Florida or New York license must have an active DEA registration, which must be obtained and maintained.
• Proficiency in Spanish is preferred; knowledge of additional languages is a plus.
• Previous experience with telehealth is preferred.
• Experience in the Community Mental Health sector is preferred.
• Full-time salaried position on a W2 basis.
• Monday to Friday work schedule; no on-call or weekend shifts.
• Available shifts: 9am-6pm ET, 10am-7pm ET, 11am-8pm ET.
