This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.
• Evaluate adolescent and adult patients, or patients of all ages, based on their symptoms and concerns.
• Assess the mental and physical condition of patients.
• Diagnose psychiatric conditions and differentiate between physiologically and psychologically based disorders.
• Provide individual psychotherapy for both chronic and acute mental health issues.
• Order diagnostic tests, such as EKGs and laboratory work.
• Prescribe psychotropic medications, including controlled substances, while educating patients on their risks, benefits, and side effects.
• Monitor the usage of medications, side effects, and treatment outcomes.
• Assess patient behavior and their response to treatment.
• Skillfully de-escalate challenging patient situations when necessary.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to develop treatment plans.
• Educate patients and their families regarding mental health conditions, treatment strategies, and medications.
• Record medical and psychological histories, evaluations, diagnoses, treatment strategies, prescriptions, and results.
• Complete administrative patient-care documentation, including FMLA and approved forms.
• Arrange and coordinate follow-up appointments and ongoing treatment requirements.
• Ensure accurate documentation of patient visits in the EHR system.
• Adhere to HIPAA regulations, 42 CFR Part 2, national care standards, and internal policies.
• Consult recommended references and liaise with the Clinical Director and/or Medical Director for clinical advice.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Nurse Practitioner.
• Currently possesses a Board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner license (PMHNP).
• Experience in addiction and mental health care.
• Willing to obtain additional state licenses as needed.
• Experience with Motivational Interviewing techniques.
• Committed to collaborating with clients to achieve their goals.
• Experience working with adults requiring general mental health and/or severe mental illness treatment.
• Comfortable working with patients across the lifespan (ages 13 and older).
• Knowledge of mental health diagnoses and/or dual diagnoses related to substance abuse.
• Experience in treatment planning.
• Ability to perform and apply comprehensive assessments.
• Timely and quality documentation experience, proficient with EHR systems.
• Adaptable to technology, including telehealth software, and comfortable with video communication.
• Knowledge of and compliance with HIPAA and 42 CFR Part 2 regulations.
• Must be eligible to work in the United States without the need for visa sponsorship or renewal.
• Clinicians with Florida or New York licenses must maintain active DEA registration.
• Proficiency in Spanish is preferred; proficiency in other languages is an advantage.
• Previous experience with telehealth is preferred.
• Experience in the Community Mental Health sector is preferred.
• Full-time salaried position with W2 employment.
