This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Oklahoma.
• Evaluate the mental and physical conditions of patients based on their symptoms and concerns.
• Identify and diagnose psychiatric disorders and mental health issues.
• Differentiate between physiologically-based and psychologically-based disorders for accurate diagnosis.
• Provide individual psychotherapy for patients experiencing chronic or acute mental health challenges.
• Request diagnostic tests such as EKGs and laboratory analyses.
• Prescribe psychotropic medications, including controlled substances, and inform patients about associated risks, benefits, and side effects.
• Oversee the use of medications, monitor side effects, and assess treatment outcomes.
• Analyze patient behavior and their responses to treatment.
• Effectively manage challenging patients and employ verbal de-escalation techniques when required.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to create, implement, and assess treatment plans.
• Provide education to patients and their families concerning mental health conditions, treatment strategies, and medications.
• Record medical and psychological histories, assessments, diagnoses, treatment plans, prescriptions, and outcomes.
• Complete necessary administrative documentation, including FMLA forms and other Brave-approved paperwork.
• Arrange and coordinate follow-up appointments and ongoing treatment requirements.
• Conduct patient visits and ensure accurate documentation in the Electronic Health Record (EHR).
• Adhere to HIPAA regulations, 42 CFR Part 2, national care standards, and internal policies.
• Seek clinical guidance from recommended references and the Clinical Director and/or Medical Director.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Nurse Practitioner.
• Currently possesses a Board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) license.
• Background in Addiction and Mental Health is essential.
• Willingness to obtain additional state licenses.
• Experience in Motivational Interviewing.
• Commitment to collaborating with clients to achieve their goals.
• Experience in treating adults requiring general mental health or severe mental illness (SMI) care.
• Comfortable working with patients across all age groups (ages 13 and older).
• Knowledge of mental health diagnoses and substance abuse dual-diagnoses.
• Proficient in treatment planning.
• Capable of performing and utilizing comprehensive assessments.
• Timely and quality documentation experience, particularly with EHRs.
• Adaptable to technology, including telehealth software, and comfortable with video communication.
• Understanding of and compliance with HIPAA and 42 CFR Part 2 regulations.
• Must be eligible to work in the United States; no visa sponsorship or assistance will be provided.
• For clinicians licensed in Florida or New York, an active DEA registration is required and must be acquired and maintained by the clinician.
• Spanish-speaking ability is preferred; proficiency in additional languages is a bonus.
• Previous telehealth experience is advantageous.
• Experience in the Community Mental Health sector is preferred.
• W2, full-time salaried position.
• Monday to Friday work schedule; no on-call or weekend shifts required.
• Available shifts: 9am-6pm ET, 10am-7pm ET, 11am-8pm ET.
