This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois.

📋 Description

• Evaluate the mental and physical health status of patients based on their reported symptoms and concerns.

• Deliver care to both adolescent and adult patients, or throughout the lifespan, as designated.

• Identify and diagnose psychiatric disorders and mental health issues.

• Differentiate between disorders of physiological and psychological origins and provide accurate diagnoses.

• Facilitate individual psychotherapy for chronic or acute mental health disorders.

• Request diagnostic tests such as EKGs and laboratory work as necessary.

• Prescribe psychotropic medications, including controlled substances, while educating patients about the associated risks, benefits, and side effects.

• Monitor the use of medications, their side effects, and overall treatment outcomes.

• Assess patient behavior and their reactions to treatment.

• Effectively deescalate challenging patient situations verbally when required.

• Collaborate with members of an interdisciplinary team to formulate, implement, and assess treatment plans.

• Provide education to patients and their families regarding mental health issues, treatment strategies, and medications.

• Maintain thorough documentation of medical and psychological histories, evaluations, diagnoses, treatment plans, prescriptions, and results.

• Complete necessary administrative documentation related to patient care, including FMLA and other approved forms.

• Organize and coordinate follow-up appointments and ongoing treatment requirements.

• Conduct patient visits and ensure accurate documentation in the Electronic Health Record (EHR).

• Adhere to HIPAA regulations, 42 CFR Part 2, national care standards, and internal policies.

• Utilize recommended resources and seek clinical guidance from the Clinical Director and/or Medical Director when needed.


⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Nurse Practitioner.

• Must currently possess a Board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) license.

• Experience in Addiction and Mental Health fields.

• Willingness to obtain additional state licenses as required.

• Familiarity with Motivational Interviewing techniques.

• Commitment to partnering with clients to help them achieve their goals.

• Experience working with adults requiring general mental health care and/or treatment for severe mental illness (SMI).

• Comfort and experience in working with patients of all ages (13 years and older).

• Knowledge of mental health diagnoses and/or dual diagnoses concerning substance abuse.

• Skills in treatment planning.

• Ability to perform and apply comprehensive assessments effectively.

• Timely and high-quality documentation skills with experience in EHRs.

• Adaptability to technology, including telehealth software; comfortable with video communication.

• Understanding of and compliance with HIPAA and 42 CFR Part 2 regulations.

• Eligibility to work in the United States; no visa sponsorship or work eligibility assistance available.

• For clinicians licensed in Florida or New York, an active DEA registration is required, which must be obtained and maintained by the clinician.

• Proficiency in Spanish is preferred; additional language skills are a bonus.

• Previous experience with telehealth is preferred.

• Experience in the Community Mental Health sector is advantageous.
