This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois.
• Evaluate the mental and physical condition of patients based on their presenting symptoms and complaints.
• Identify and diagnose psychiatric disorders as well as mental health conditions.
• Differentiate between disorders that are physiologically and psychologically based and make appropriate diagnoses.
• Provide individual psychotherapy for both chronic and acute mental health disorders.
• Request diagnostic tests, including EKGs and laboratory work.
• Prescribe psychotropic medications, including controlled substances, while educating patients about risks, benefits, and side effects.
• Monitor medication adherence, side effects, and treatment outcomes.
• Assess patient behavior and their response to treatment interventions.
• Effectively deescalate challenging patient situations when necessary.
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to create, implement, and review treatment plans.
• Provide education to patients and their families regarding mental health conditions, treatment plans, and medications.
• Maintain accurate documentation of medical and psychological histories, assessments, diagnoses, treatment plans, prescriptions, and outcomes.
• Complete required administrative documentation, including FMLA and other approved forms.
• Organize and schedule follow-up appointments as well as ongoing treatment needs.
• Conduct patient visits and ensure precise documentation in the EHR system.
• Adhere to HIPAA regulations, 42 CFR Part 2, national standards of care, and internal policies.
• Seek clinical guidance from recommended references and the Clinical Director and/or Medical Director when necessary.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Nurse Practitioner.
• Must possess a Board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner license (PMHNP).
• Experience in Addiction and Mental Health is required.
• Open to acquiring additional state licenses.
• Experience with Motivational Interviewing is essential.
• Willingness to collaborate with clients to meet their goals.
• Experience working with adults requiring general mental health and/or severe mental illness (SMI) treatment is mandatory.
• Comfort and experience in working with patients across various age groups (ages 13 and older).
• Knowledge of mental health diagnoses and/or dual diagnoses related to substance abuse.
• Proficient in treatment planning.
• Ability to conduct and apply comprehensive assessments effectively.
• Timely and quality documentation skills; experience with EHR systems is needed.
• Adaptability to technology, including telehealth software, and comfort with video conferencing.
• Understanding and compliance with HIPAA and 42 CFR Part 2 regulations.
• Must be eligible to work in the United States; no visa sponsorship or work eligibility assistance will be provided.
• Clinicians with a Florida or New York license must have an active DEA registration, which must be obtained and maintained.
• Proficiency in Spanish is preferred; proficiency in other languages is advantageous.
• Previous telehealth experience is a plus.
• Experience in the Community Mental Health sector is preferred.
• Full-time salaried position with W2 employment.
• Monday to Friday work schedule; no on-call duties or weekend shifts.
• Shift options include: 9am-6pm ET, 10am-7pm ET, and 11am-8pm ET.
