This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois.

📋 Description

• Deliver care to adolescent and adult patients, or across all age groups, as assigned.

• Evaluate patients’ mental and physical conditions based on their presenting symptoms and concerns.

• Identify psychiatric disorders and mental health issues through diagnosis.

• Differentiate between physiologically- and psychologically-based disorders for accurate diagnosis.

• Provide individual psychotherapy for patients experiencing chronic or acute mental health disorders.

• Request diagnostic tests such as EKGs, lab work, and other necessary evaluations.

• Prescribe psychotropic medications, including controlled substances, while educating patients on the associated risks, benefits, and side effects.

• Monitor patients’ medication adherence, side effects, and treatment outcomes.

• Assess patients’ behaviors and responses to treatment interventions.

• Effectively manage challenging patient interactions and de-escalate situations verbally when necessary.

• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to create, implement, and review treatment plans.

• Inform patients and their families about mental health conditions, treatment plans, and medications.

• Maintain accurate documentation of medical and psychological histories, evaluations, diagnoses, treatment plans, prescriptions, and outcomes.

• Complete necessary administrative paperwork, including FMLA and other approved forms.

• Organize and schedule follow-up appointments and ongoing treatment requirements.

• Conduct patient visits and ensure precise documentation in the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system.

• Adhere to HIPAA, 42 CFR Part 2, national care standards, and internal policies in practice.

• Consult with the Clinical Director and/or Medical Director for clinical guidance using recommended references.


⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 2 years of experience as a Nurse Practitioner.

• Must possess a Board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner license (PMHNP).

• Background in Addiction and Mental Health is required.

• Open to obtaining additional state licenses as needed.

• Experience in Motivational Interviewing is preferred.

• Willingness to collaborate with clients to achieve their goals is essential.

• Must have experience providing care to adults requiring general mental health and/or severe mental illness (SMI) treatment.

• Comfort and experience working with patients across the lifespan (ages 13 and older) is necessary.

• Familiarity with mental health diagnoses and/or dual diagnoses related to substance abuse is important.

• Skills in treatment planning are required.

• Ability to perform and utilize comprehensive assessments effectively.

• Experience with timely and high-quality documentation, particularly in EHR systems.

• Must be adaptable to technology, including telehealth software, and comfortable with video communication.

• Knowledge of and compliance with HIPAA and 42 CFR Part 2 is essential.

• Must be eligible to work in the United States; no visa sponsorship or work eligibility assistance will be provided.

• For clinicians licensed in Florida or New York, an active DEA registration is mandatory and must be maintained by the clinician.

• Proficiency in Spanish is preferred; fluency in additional languages is a plus.

• Previous telehealth experience is a plus.

• Experience in the Community Mental Health sector is preferred.
