This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois.
• Deliver care to adolescent and adult patients, or across all age groups, as assigned.
• Evaluate patients’ mental and physical conditions based on presenting symptoms and concerns.
• Identify psychiatric disorders and mental health issues.
• Differentiate between physiologically and psychologically based disorders and diagnose accurately.
• Provide individual psychotherapy for both chronic and acute mental disorders.
• Order diagnostic tests such as EKGs and laboratory work.
• Prescribe psychotropic medications, including controlled substances, while informing patients about risks, benefits, and side effects.
• Monitor medication usage, side effects, and treatment outcomes.
• Assess patient behavior and treatment responses.
• Verbally de-escalate challenging patients when necessary.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to formulate, implement, and evaluate treatment plans.
• Educate patients and their families regarding conditions, treatment strategies, and medications.
• Document medical and psychological histories, assessments, diagnoses, treatment plans, prescriptions, and outcomes.
• Complete administrative patient-care documentation, including FMLA and other approved forms.
• Schedule and coordinate follow-up appointments and ongoing treatment requirements.
• Conduct patient visits and maintain precise documentation in the EHR.
• Operate in accordance with HIPAA, 42 CFR Part 2, national care standards, and internal policies.
• Seek clinical guidance from recommended references and Clinical or Medical Directors.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Nurse Practitioner.
• Current board certification as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP).
• Experience in addiction and mental health fields.
• Open to obtaining additional state licenses.
• Familiarity with Motivational Interviewing techniques.
• Willingness to collaborate with clients to achieve their goals.
• Experience working with adults requiring general mental health support and/or treatment for severe mental illness.
• Comfort and experience working with patients across the lifespan (ages 13 and older).
• Knowledge of mental health diagnoses and/or dual diagnoses involving substance abuse.
• Experience in treatment planning.
• Ability to perform and apply comprehensive assessments.
• Timely and high-quality documentation skills with experience in EHR systems.
• Adaptability to technology, including telehealth software; comfort with video communication.
• Understanding of and adherence to HIPAA and 42 CFR Part 2 regulations.
• Eligibility to work in the United States without the need for visa sponsorship or renewal.
• For clinicians licensed in Florida or New York, active DEA registration is mandatory and must be maintained.
• Proficiency in Spanish is preferred; knowledge of other languages is an advantage.
• Previous telehealth experience is advantageous.
• Experience in the Community Mental Health sector is preferred.
• W2, full-time salaried position.
