This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois.
• Evaluate the mental and physical health status of adolescent and adult patients.
• Identify psychiatric disorders and mental health issues.
• Differentiate between physiologically and psychologically based disorders.
• Provide individual psychotherapy for both chronic and acute mental health conditions.
• Request diagnostic tests such as EKGs and laboratory work.
• Prescribe psychotropic medications, including controlled substances.
• Inform patients and their families about their conditions, treatment options, medications, risks, benefits, and potential side effects.
• Oversee medication usage, side effects, treatment responses, and outcomes.
• Assess patient behavior and the effectiveness of interventions.
• Deescalate challenging patient situations verbally when necessary.
• Work collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams to formulate, execute, and assess treatment plans.
• Maintain accurate records of medical and psychological histories, assessments, diagnoses, prescriptions, treatment plans, and outcomes in the EHR.
• Complete necessary administrative documentation for patient care, including FMLA and Brave-approved forms.
• Organize and manage follow-up appointments and ongoing treatment schedules.
• Operate within the guidelines of HIPAA, 42 CFR Part 2, national care standards, and internal policies.
• Seek clinical guidance from the Clinical Director and/or Medical Director as needed.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Nurse Practitioner.
• Must possess a Board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner license (PMHNP).
• Experience in Addiction and Mental Health is essential.
• Willingness to obtain additional state licenses as needed.
• Experience with Motivational Interviewing is preferred.
• Commitment to collaborate with clients to meet their goals.
• Experience working with adults requiring general mental health or severe mental illness (SMI) treatment is necessary.
• Comfort and experience in working with patients across a wide age range (ages 13 and older).
• Understanding of mental health diagnoses and/or dual diagnoses involving substance abuse.
• Proficient in treatment planning.
• Ability to conduct and effectively use comprehensive assessments.
• Experience with timely and quality documentation, including familiarity with EHRs.
• Adaptability to technology, including telehealth software, and comfort with video communication.
• Knowledge of and compliance with HIPAA and 42 CFR Part 2 regulations.
• Must be eligible to work in the United States; no visa sponsorship or work eligibility assistance is available.
• For clinicians with a Florida or New York license, an active DEA registration is required and must be obtained and maintained by the clinician.
• Proficiency in Spanish is preferred; fluency in other languages is an advantage.
• Previous experience in telehealth is a plus.
• Experience in Community Mental Health is preferred.
• W2, full-time salaried position.
• Monday to Friday schedule with no on-call or weekend shifts.
• Available shifts: 9am-6pm ET, 10am-7pm ET, 11am-8pm ET.
