This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois.
• Evaluate patients’ mental and physical conditions based on their symptoms and concerns.
• Identify and diagnose psychiatric disorders and mental health issues.
• Differentiate between physiologically and psychologically based disorders for accurate diagnosis.
• Provide individual psychotherapy to patients experiencing chronic or acute mental health disorders.
• Request diagnostic tests such as EKGs, laboratory work, and additional assessments as necessary.
• Prescribe psychotropic medications, including controlled substances, while educating patients about associated risks, benefits, and side effects.
• Monitor medication usage, side effects, and treatment outcomes.
• Assess patient behavior and their responses to treatment.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to devise, implement, and assess treatment plans.
• Inform patients and their families about mental health conditions, treatment strategies, and medications.
• Maintain documentation of medical and psychological histories, evaluations, diagnoses, treatment plans, prescriptions, and outcomes.
• Complete administrative paperwork, including FMLA and other approved documentation.
• Organize and coordinate follow-up appointments and ongoing treatment requirements.
• Conduct patient visits and ensure accurate documentation in the EHR system.
• Operate in compliance with HIPAA regulations, 42 CFR Part 2, national care standards, and internal policies.
• Seek clinical guidance from recommended references, the Clinical Director, and/or the Medical Director as needed.
• Provide care to adolescent and adult patients, or across the lifespan, as designated.
• Effectively deescalate challenging patient situations when required.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Nurse Practitioner.
• Currently possesses a Board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner license (PMHNP).
• Experience in Addiction and Mental Health fields.
• Willingness to obtain additional state licenses.
• Familiarity with Motivational Interviewing techniques.
• Commitment to collaborating with clients to achieve their goals.
• Must have experience working with adults requiring general mental health or severe mental illness (SMI) treatment.
• Experience and comfort in working with patients across the lifespan (ages 13 and older).
• Knowledge of mental health diagnoses and/or dual diagnoses related to substance abuse.
• Competence in treatment planning.
• Ability to perform and apply comprehensive assessments.
• Timely and high-quality documentation skills; experience with EHR systems.
• Adaptable to technology, including telehealth software; comfortable with video communication.
• Understanding of and compliance with HIPAA and 42 CFR Part 2 regulations.
• Eligibility to work in the United States; no visa sponsorship or work eligibility assistance will be provided.
• For clinicians licensed in Florida or New York, an active DEA registration is required and must be obtained and maintained by the clinician.
• Proficiency in Spanish and other languages is preferred but not mandatory.
• Previous telehealth experience is preferred.
• Experience in the Community Mental Health sector is preferred.
• Full-time salaried position with W2 employment.
• Monday to Friday schedule; no on-call or weekend shifts.
• Available shifts: 9am-6pm ET, 10am-7pm ET, 11am-8pm ET.
