This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida.
• Evaluate patients’ mental and physical health based on their symptoms and concerns.
• Identify and diagnose psychiatric disorders and mental health issues.
• Differentiate between disorders stemming from physiological and psychological causes, diagnosing accordingly.
• Provide individual psychotherapy for patients facing chronic or acute mental health challenges.
• Request diagnostic tests including EKGs and laboratory work.
• Prescribe psychotropic medications, including controlled substances, while educating patients about the associated risks, benefits, and potential side effects.
• Monitor patients' medication adherence, side effects, and treatment outcomes.
• Assess patients’ behavior and their response to treatment.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to create, implement, and review treatment plans.
• Inform patients and their families about mental health conditions, treatment strategies, and medications.
• Effectively engage with challenging patients, employing verbal de-escalation techniques when necessary.
• Maintain comprehensive documentation of medical and psychological histories, physical evaluations, diagnoses, treatment plans, prescriptions, and outcomes.
• Complete necessary administrative documentation related to patient care, including FMLA and other approved forms.
• Arrange and manage follow-up appointments and ongoing treatment requirements.
• Conduct patient visits and ensure accurate documentation in the electronic health record (EHR).
• Adhere to HIPAA, 42 CFR Part 2, national care standards, and internal policies.
• Utilize recommended resources and seek clinical guidance from the Clinical Director and/or Medical Director.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Nurse Practitioner.
• Current Board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) license.
• Background in Addiction and Mental Health.
• Willingness to obtain additional state licensure as needed.
• Experience in Motivational Interviewing.
• Commitment to partnering with clients to achieve their goals.
• Experience working with adults requiring general mental health care and/or severe mental illness (SMI) treatment.
• Comfort and experience working with patients of all ages (13 years and older).
• Familiarity with mental health diagnoses and/or dual diagnoses related to substance abuse.
• Skills in treatment planning.
• Capability to conduct and apply comprehensive assessments.
• Ability to maintain timely and high-quality documentation; experience with EHR systems is preferred.
• Adaptability to technology, including telehealth software; proficient in video communication.
• Knowledge of and compliance with HIPAA and 42 CFR Part 2 regulations.
• Eligibility to work in the United States; no visa sponsorship or assistance for work eligibility is available.
• For clinicians with a Florida or New York license, an active DEA registration is required and must be maintained by the clinician.
• Proficiency in Spanish is preferred; knowledge of other languages is an advantage.
• Previous experience with telehealth is preferred.
• Familiarity with the Community Mental Health sector is preferred.
• W2, full-time salaried position.
• Monday through Friday work schedule; no on-call or weekend shifts.
• Shift options: 9am-6pm ET, 10am-7pm ET, 11am-8pm ET.
