This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida.
• Evaluate the mental and physical condition of patients based on their symptoms and complaints.
• Identify psychiatric disorders and mental health issues.
• Differentiate between physiologically and psychologically based disorders to provide accurate diagnoses.
• Provide individual psychotherapy to patients dealing with chronic or acute mental health challenges.
• Request diagnostic tests, including EKGs and laboratory analysis.
• Prescribe psychotropic medications, including controlled substances, while informing patients about their risks, benefits, and side effects.
• Supervise medication usage, side effects, and treatment outcomes.
• Assess patient behavior and responsiveness to treatment.
• Effectively de-escalate challenging patient interactions when required.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to create, implement, and assess treatment plans.
• Inform patients and their families about mental health conditions, treatment strategies, and medications.
• Maintain thorough documentation of medical and psychological histories, assessments, diagnoses, treatment plans, prescriptions, and outcomes in the EHR.
• Complete necessary administrative paperwork, including FMLA and other approved forms.
• Organize and manage follow-up appointments and ongoing treatment requirements.
• Operate in accordance with HIPAA, 42 CFR Part 2, national care standards, and internal protocols.
• Consult with recommended references and seek guidance from the Clinical Director and/or Medical Director when necessary.
• Provide care to adolescent and adult patients, or throughout the lifespan, as assigned.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Nurse Practitioner.
• Currently possesses a Board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) license.
• Background in Addiction and Mental Health.
• Willingness to pursue additional state licenses.
• Experience with Motivational Interviewing.
• Commitment to collaborating with clients to achieve their goals.
• Required experience in treating adults with general mental health issues and/or severe mental illness (SMI).
• Must be comfortable working with patients across the lifespan (ages 13 and older).
• Knowledgeable about mental health diagnoses and/or dual diagnoses concerning substance abuse.
• Proficient in treatment planning.
• Capable of conducting and utilizing comprehensive assessments.
• Timely and accurate documentation skills; experience with EHR systems.
• Adaptable to technology, including telehealth software, and comfortable using video communication.
• Knowledge of and compliance with HIPAA and 42 CFR Part 2 regulations.
• Must be eligible to work in the United States; no visa sponsorship will be provided.
• For clinicians licensed in Florida or New York, an active DEA registration is required and must be obtained and maintained.
• Proficiency in Spanish is preferred; knowledge of other languages is a plus.
• Previous experience with telehealth is preferred.
• Experience in the Community Mental Health sector is preferred.
• Full-time salaried position with W2 employment.
• Work schedule from Monday to Friday; no on-call or weekend shifts.
• Available shifts: 9am-6pm ET, 10am-7pm ET, 11am-8pm ET.
