This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida, +1 more state.
• Deliver care to adolescent and adult patients, or throughout the lifespan, as allocated.
• Evaluate patients’ mental and physical conditions based on their presenting symptoms and concerns.
• Identify psychiatric disorders and mental health issues.
• Differentiate between physiologically- and psychologically-based disorders and make accurate diagnoses.
• Engage in individual psychotherapy for both chronic and acute mental health disorders.
• Request diagnostic assessments such as EKGs, lab tests, and other necessary evaluations.
• Prescribe psychotropic medications, including controlled substances, while educating patients on the associated risks, benefits, and side effects.
• Oversee medication adherence, monitor side effects, and assess treatment outcomes.
• Analyze patient behavior and their responses to treatment.
• Effectively de-escalate challenging patients when needed.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to formulate, implement, and assess treatment plans.
• Inform patients and their families about mental health issues, treatment strategies, and medications.
• Maintain documentation of medical and psychological histories, physical evaluations, diagnoses, treatment strategies, prescriptions, and outcomes.
• Complete administrative patient-care documentation, including FMLA and other Brave-approved forms.
• Organize and manage follow-up appointments and ongoing treatment requirements.
• Conduct patient visits and ensure precise documentation in the EHR.
• Adhere to HIPAA regulations, 42 CFR Part 2, national care standards, and internal policies.
• Seek guidance from recommended references and the Clinical Director and/or Medical Director for clinical matters as necessary.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Nurse Practitioner.
• Currently possesses a Board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner license (PMHNP).
• Background in Addiction and Mental Health.
• Open to acquiring additional state licenses.
• Experience in Motivational Interviewing.
• Willingness to collaborate with clients to achieve their objectives.
• Experience working with adults requiring general mental health and/or severe mental illness (SMI) treatment.
• Comfort and experience working with patients across the lifespan (ages 13 and up).
• Knowledge of mental health diagnoses and/or dual-diagnoses related to substance abuse.
• Proficiency in treatment planning.
• Capability to conduct and apply comprehensive assessments.
• Timely and high-quality documentation; familiarity with EHRs.
• Adaptability to technology, including telehealth software; comfortable with video interactions.
• Understanding of and compliance with HIPAA and 42 CFR Part 2 regulations.
• Eligibility to work in the United States; no visa sponsorship or renewal assistance available.
• For clinicians licensed in Florida or New York, an active DEA registration is necessary and must be obtained and maintained by the clinician.
• Proficiency in Spanish and other languages is advantageous.
• Prior telehealth experience is preferred.
• Previous experience in the Community Mental Health sector is preferred.
• W2, Full-time salaried position.
• Schedule from Monday to Friday; No on-call or weekend responsibilities.
• Available shifts: 9am-6pm ET, 10am-7pm ET, 11am-8pm ET.
