This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida.
• Deliver care to adolescent and adult patients, or across the lifespan, as assigned.
• Evaluate patients’ mental and physical conditions based on their presenting symptoms and complaints.
• Identify and diagnose psychiatric disorders and mental health issues.
• Differentiate between physiologically and psychologically based disorders for accurate diagnosis.
• Provide individual psychotherapy for patients dealing with chronic or acute mental health disorders.
• Request diagnostic tests, including EKGs and lab work, as necessary.
• Prescribe psychotropic medications, including controlled substances, while informing patients about medication risks, benefits, and side effects.
• Oversee medication usage, side effects, and treatment outcomes.
• Assess patient behavior and response to therapeutic interventions.
• Skillfully deescalate challenging situations with patients when required.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to create, implement, and assess treatment plans.
• Educate patients and their families regarding mental health conditions, treatment strategies, and medications.
• Maintain thorough documentation of medical and psychological histories, assessments, diagnoses, treatment plans, prescriptions, and outcomes.
• Complete necessary administrative documentation related to patient care, including FMLA and other approved forms.
• Organize and manage follow-up appointments and ongoing treatment requirements.
• Conduct patient visits and ensure accurate documentation within the EHR.
• Adhere to HIPAA regulations, 42 CFR Part 2, national care standards, and internal policies.
• Seek clinical guidance from recommended references and the Clinical Director and/or Medical Director.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Nurse Practitioner.
• Current Board certification as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP).
• Expertise in Addiction and Mental Health.
• Willingness to pursue additional state licensures.
• Experience with Motivational Interviewing techniques.
• Commitment to collaborating with clients to realize their goals.
• Necessary experience working with adults requiring general mental health and/or severe mental illness (SMI) treatment.
• Comfort and experience in working with patients across the lifespan (ages 13 and older).
• Knowledge of mental health diagnoses and/or dual diagnoses related to substance abuse.
• Proficient in treatment planning.
• Ability to perform and utilize comprehensive assessments effectively.
• Timely and high-quality documentation experience; familiarity with EHR systems.
• Adaptability to technological advancements, including telehealth software; comfortable with video communication.
• Understanding of and compliance with HIPAA and 42 CFR Part 2 regulations.
• Eligibility to work in the United States; no visa sponsorship or work eligibility assistance is available.
• For clinicians with a Florida or New York license, an active DEA registration is mandatory and must be obtained and maintained by the clinician.
• Full-time salaried position with W2 employment.
• Monday to Friday schedule; No on-call or weekend shifts required.
• Available shifts: 9am-6pm ET, 10am-7pm ET, 11am-8pm ET.
