This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida.
• Evaluate patients’ mental and physical health based on their presenting symptoms and concerns.
• Identify psychiatric disorders and mental health issues.
• Differentiate between disorders rooted in physiological and psychological factors and make appropriate diagnoses.
• Provide individual psychotherapy for patients experiencing chronic or acute mental health issues.
• Request diagnostic tests such as EKGs, lab tests, and other necessary evaluations.
• Prescribe psychotropic medications, including controlled substances, while educating patients about their risks, benefits, and side effects.
• Oversee medication usage, monitor side effects, and assess treatment outcomes.
• Assess patient behavior and their response to treatment.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to create, implement, and review treatment plans.
• Inform patients and their families about mental health disorders, treatment strategies, and medications.
• Effectively engage with challenging patients and manage de-escalation when required.
• Maintain documentation of medical and psychological histories, assessments, diagnoses, treatment plans, prescriptions, and outcomes.
• Complete necessary administrative paperwork, including FMLA and other approved forms.
• Arrange and manage follow-up appointments and ongoing treatment requirements.
• Conduct patient visits and ensure accurate documentation in the EHR system.
• Adhere to HIPAA regulations, 42 CFR Part 2, national standards of care, and internal policies.
• Utilize recommended references and seek clinical guidance from the Clinical Director and/or Medical Director as needed.
• Provide care for adolescent and adult patients, or across the lifespan, as assigned.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Nurse Practitioner.
• Currently possesses a Board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner license (PMHNP).
• Experience in Addiction and Mental Health fields.
• Open to obtaining additional state licenses.
• Familiarity with Motivational Interviewing techniques.
• Willingness to collaborate with clients to help them achieve their goals.
• Required experience working with adults requiring general mental health support and/or severe mental illness (SMI) treatment.
• Experience and comfort in working with patients across various age groups (ages 13 and older).
• Knowledge of mental health diagnoses and/or dual diagnoses related to substance abuse.
• Proficiency in treatment planning.
• Ability to conduct and apply comprehensive assessments.
• Timely and high-quality documentation skills; experience with electronic health records (EHRs).
• Adaptable to technology, including telehealth platforms; comfortable with video consultations.
• Awareness of and compliance with HIPAA and 42 CFR Part 2 regulations.
• Must be eligible to work in the United States; no visa sponsorship or work-eligibility assistance available.
• For clinicians with a Florida or New York license, an active DEA registration is required and must be obtained and maintained by the clinician.
• Proficiency in Spanish is preferred; additional language proficiency is a plus.
• Previous telehealth experience is preferred.
• Experience in the Community Mental Health sector is preferred.
• W2, full-time salaried position.
• Monday to Friday schedule; no on-call or weekend shifts required.
