This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida.

📋 Description

• Evaluate the mental and physical condition of patients based on their symptoms and concerns.

• Identify psychiatric disorders and mental health issues.

• Differentiate between physiologically and psychologically based disorders and provide appropriate diagnoses.

• Conduct individual psychotherapy for both chronic and acute mental health disorders.

• Order necessary diagnostic tests, including EKGs, lab work, and other assessments.

• Prescribe psychotropic medications, including controlled substances, while educating patients on the associated risks, benefits, and side effects.

• Monitor patient medication usage, side effects, and overall treatment outcomes.

• Assess patient behavior and their responses to treatment.

• Effectively manage challenging patients, utilizing verbal de-escalation techniques when needed.

• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to create, implement, and assess treatment plans.

• Provide education to patients and their families regarding mental health conditions, treatment strategies, and medications.

• Maintain comprehensive documentation of medical and psychological histories, physical assessments, diagnoses, treatment plans, prescriptions, and results.

• Complete essential administrative documentation, including FMLA and other required forms.

• Schedule and manage follow-up appointments and ongoing treatment requirements.

• Conduct patient visits and ensure precise documentation in the electronic health record (EHR).

• Practice in accordance with HIPAA, 42 CFR Part 2, national care standards, and internal policies.

• Utilize recommended references and seek clinical guidance from the Clinical Director and/or Medical Director.

• Provide care to adolescent and adult patients, or across the lifespan, as assigned.


⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of experience working as a Nurse Practitioner.

• Valid Board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner license (PMHNP).

• Background in Addiction and Mental Health care.

• Open to acquiring additional state licenses.

• Experience with Motivational Interviewing.

• Willingness to partner with clients to help them achieve their goals.

• Experience working with adults requiring general mental health and/or severe mental illness (SMI) treatment.

• Comfort and experience with patients across the lifespan (ages 13 and older).

• Knowledge of mental health diagnoses and/or dual diagnoses related to substance abuse.

• Proficient in treatment planning.

• Ability to perform and apply comprehensive assessments.

• Experience with timely and quality documentation; familiar with EHR systems.

• Adaptable to technology, including telehealth software; comfortable with video communication.

• Understanding of and compliance with HIPAA and 42 CFR Part 2 regulations.

• Eligible to work in the United States; no visa sponsorship or work eligibility assistance will be provided.

• For clinicians licensed in Florida or New York, an active DEA registration is required and must be obtained and maintained by the clinician.

• Proficiency in Spanish and other languages is preferred; Spanish proficiency is specifically highlighted as a desired skill.

• Previous telehealth experience is preferred.

• Prior experience in the Community Mental Health sector is preferred.
