This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida.

📋 Description

• Evaluate the mental and physical health of patients based on their presenting symptoms and complaints.

• Deliver care to adolescent and adult patients, or throughout the lifespan, as assigned.

• Identify and diagnose psychiatric disorders and mental health conditions.

• Differentiate between physiologically- and psychologically-based disorders and make appropriate diagnoses.

• Provide individual psychotherapy for patients experiencing chronic or acute mental disorders.

• Order necessary diagnostic tests, including EKGs and laboratory work.

• Prescribe psychotropic medications, including controlled substances, while educating patients about the risks, benefits, and side effects of these medications.

• Monitor the usage of medications, side effects, and treatment outcomes.

• Assess patient behavior and their responses to treatment.

• Employ verbal de-escalation techniques with challenging patients when required.

• Work collaboratively with interdisciplinary team members to develop, implement, and evaluate treatment plans.

• Provide education to patients and their family members regarding mental health conditions, treatment plans, and medications.

• Maintain documentation of medical and psychological histories, physical assessments, diagnoses, treatment plans, prescriptions, and outcomes.

• Complete administrative documentation, including FMLA and other approved forms.

• Schedule and coordinate follow-up appointments and ongoing treatment requirements.

• Conduct patient visits and ensure accurate documentation in the EHR.

• Adhere to HIPAA, 42 CFR Part 2, national standards of care, and internal policies in practice.

• Utilize recommended references and seek clinical guidance from the Clinical Director and/or Medical Director.


⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Nurse Practitioner.

• Current Board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner license (PMHNP) is required.

• Experience in Addiction and Mental Health is necessary.

• Willingness to obtain additional state licenses is expected.

• Experience with Motivational Interviewing is preferred.

• A collaborative approach to work with clients to achieve their goals is essential.

• Experience working with adults needing general mental health and/or severe mental illness (SMI) treatment is required.

• Comfort and experience working with patients across the lifespan (ages 13 and older) is necessary.

• Knowledge of mental health diagnoses and/or dual diagnoses related to substance abuse is important.

• Skills in treatment planning are required.

• Ability to conduct and utilize comprehensive assessments is essential.

• Experience with timely and quality documentation; familiarity with EHRs is necessary.

• Adaptability to technology, including telehealth software, and comfort with video communication is required.

• Understanding of and compliance with HIPAA and 42 CFR Part 2 is mandatory.

• Must be eligible to work in the United States; visas or work eligibility assistance will not be provided.

• For clinicians with a Florida or New York license, an active DEA registration is required and must be obtained and maintained by the clinician.

• Proficiency in Spanish and other languages is a plus.

• Previous telehealth experience is preferred.

• Experience in the Community Mental Health sector is preferred.
