Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colorado.

📋 Description

• Act as the consulting psychiatric provider for the patient panel in Colorado.

• Discuss caseloads with Behavioral Health Care Managers during weekly interdisciplinary team meetings, focusing on patients who are not showing improvement.

• Suggest evidence-based medication and treatment plans to referring oncologists and primary care providers, ensuring documentation in the patient registry.

• Perform direct psychiatric evaluations and medication management consultations through telehealth.

• Prescribe and oversee psychotropic medications, taking into consideration interactions with oncological treatments, symptom burden, and care objectives.

• Act as the escalation point for clinical inquiries from the care team, addressing risk and safety concerns.

• Assist in identifying patients requiring a higher level of care and facilitate appropriate referrals.

• Contribute to the development of clinical protocols, treatment pathways, and quality improvement initiatives as the Colorado program expands.

• Ensure timely, HIPAA-compliant documentation in clinical systems.

⛳️ Requirements

• Active and unrestricted Colorado APRN license as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) with full prescriptive authority in Colorado.

• Valid DEA registration along with Colorado state controlled substance authority.

• Board certification through ANCC (PMHNP-BC).

• Master's or Doctoral degree from an accredited psychiatric mental health NP program.

• At least three years of independent psychiatric prescribing experience with adult populations.

• Comfortable practicing via telehealth and working from an electronic patient registry.

• Ability to collaborate effectively as a consultant to a care team instead of functioning as a solo practitioner.

• Licensure in additional states is preferred.

• Experience in psycho-oncology, palliative care, or with medically complex patients is preferred.

• Familiarity with the Collaborative Care Model (CoCM) is preferred.

• Experience in a startup or rapidly scaling clinical environment is preferred.

• Fluency in Spanish is preferred.
