Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner – Virtual Care

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Maryland, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Perform in-depth psychiatric evaluations utilizing evidence-based assessment tools.

• Identify and treat various mental health conditions such as anxiety disorders, depressive disorders, eating disorders, OCD, substance use disorders, ADHD, and personality disorders.

• Prescribe, oversee, and monitor psychiatric medications following clinical guidelines and state regulations.

• Evaluate treatment effectiveness, monitor side effects, and ensure patient adherence.

• Create, implement, and modify personalized treatment plans in collaboration with the interdisciplinary clinical team.

• Coordinate care with therapists and other healthcare professionals, including making appropriate referrals.

• Educate patients on their diagnoses, available treatment options, and prescribed medications.

• Maintain timely, precise, and comprehensive clinical documentation.

• Ensure adherence to legal, ethical, and organizational standards.

• Engage in quality improvement initiatives and promote continuous clinical excellence within a virtual care environment.

⛳️ Requirements

• Valid Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) certification.

• Active Nurse Practitioner (NP) and Registered Nurse (RN) licenses in the relevant states.

• Preference for multistate licensure, with a primary clinical focus on Maryland (MD), Virginia (VA), and Washington, DC.

• A minimum of two (2) years of experience as a practicing Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner.

• Strong clinical understanding of psychiatric disorders and evidence-based treatment methodologies.

• Proven expertise in managing psychiatric medications.

• Exceptional clinical judgment, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the capacity to establish rapport in a virtual care setting.

• Dedication to providing compassionate, culturally sensitive, and patient-centered care.

• Familiarity with telehealth technologies and remote clinical workflows.

• Preference for availability for full-time clinical practice; contractor arrangements may be considered based on experience and organizational requirements.

• Active licensure, DEA registration, and prescribing authority in all states where patients are treated.

• Responsible for maintaining all necessary credentials and adhering to applicable state and federal regulations.
