Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner – PMHNP

📋 Description

• Perform thorough psychiatric evaluations, assessments, diagnoses, and treatment planning.

• Offer continuous psychiatric medication management, including the prescription, monitoring, and adjustment of medications.

• Provide individual psychotherapy utilizing evidence-based methods such as CBT, DBT, IPT, or other relevant approaches.

• Deliver outpatient psychiatric care to women throughout reproductive and postpartum phases.

• Create tailored treatment plans for each patient.

• Track patient progress and modify treatment plans accordingly.

• Collaborate with therapists and healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated patient care.

• Educate patients and their families about mental health issues, medications, treatment choices, and available resources.

• Maintain precise, timely, and compliant clinical documentation.

• Facilitate referrals to mental health providers, specialists, or community resources.

• Engage in case consultations, clinical supervision, and team meetings.

• Provide patient care through a remote telehealth platform.

⛳️ Requirements

• Current Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) certification and an active Nurse Practitioner license in good standing.

• Valid license to practice in at least one of the following states: Florida, Texas, North Carolina, Georgia, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Illinois, New York, Virginia, Washington, D.C., or Maryland.

• Required experience in outpatient psychiatric care.

• At least 2 years of experience in delivering psychiatric care and psychotherapy.

• Experience in both psychiatric medication management and psychotherapy is essential.

• Strong understanding of psychopharmacology and experience in managing psychiatric medications.

• Familiarity with evidence-based therapeutic modalities such as CBT, DBT, IPT, or similar methods.

• Experience in women’s mental health, reproductive mental health, maternal mental health, and/or postpartum populations is highly preferred.

• Exceptional clinical judgment, communication, and interpersonal abilities.

• A compassionate, patient-centered approach with strong cultural competence and sensitivity.

• Capability to work independently while effectively collaborating with a remote clinical team.

• Comfort in providing care through a telehealth and outpatient setting.

• Strong documentation, organizational, and time-management skills.

• Dedication to upholding high standards of clinical quality, ethics, and patient confidentiality.
