This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New Jersey, +1 more state.
• Engage in regular weekly caseload consultation sessions with Behavioral Health Care Managers.
• Evaluate patients who are either new to the Collaborative Care program or not exhibiting the expected improvement.
• Deliver diagnostic clarification and evidence-based psychiatric recommendations utilizing patient registry and Electronic Health Record data.
• Offer clear, actionable recommendations to Primary Care Providers concerning psychiatric treatment.
• Advise on medication selection, dosing, titration, monitoring, and management of potential side effects.
• Provide insights on brief, evidence-based behavioral strategies suitable for primary care.
• Assist the care team in recognizing and addressing clinically complex behavioral health issues.
• Conduct systematic, population-based analyses of a designated patient registry.
• Leverage registry data and validated clinical measures, such as PHQ-9 and GAD-7, to track patient progress and outcomes.
• Prioritize patients who require diagnostic or treatment guidance.
• Identify treatment modifications based on measurement-based care principles.
• Set priorities and follow-up actions in collaboration with Behavioral Health Care Managers.
• Document recommendations and relay treatment guidance to the care team.
• Identify patients in need of specialty psychiatric referrals or community-based mental health resources.
• Aid in decision-making regarding higher or more specialized psychiatric care.
• Foster continuity of care and ensure appropriate transitions to specialized behavioral health services.
• Collaborate with Primary Care Providers and Behavioral Health Care Managers as a member of an interdisciplinary Collaborative Care team.
• Provide education and clinical insights on psychiatric diagnoses, medications, differential diagnosis, and evidence-based treatment.
• Engage in Collaborative Care process improvement initiatives as necessary.
• Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) from an accredited institution.
• Board-certified or board-eligible in General Psychiatry.
• Active and unrestricted medical licenses in Massachusetts and New Jersey.
• Valid and unrestricted DEA registration.
• Strong clinical understanding of psychiatric diagnoses and evidence-based treatment modalities.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal capabilities.
• Proven ability to collaborate effectively with Primary Care Providers, Behavioral Health Care Managers, and other healthcare professionals.
• Strong clinical judgment and the capacity to provide clear, actionable recommendations based on available patient data.
• Comfort in utilizing Electronic Health Records (EHRs) and patient registries.
• Ability to operate efficiently within structured weekly consultation time frames.
• Preferred: Experience in practicing within the Collaborative Care Model (CoCM), including the AIMS Center model, or another integrated behavioral health setting.
• Preferred: Experience in offering psychiatric consultation to primary care clinicians.
• Preferred: Experience in population-based behavioral health care and registry-based patient monitoring.
• Preferred: Familiarity with measurement-based treatment options using PHQ-9 and GAD-7.
• Preferred: Experience in supporting medication management within a primary care or integrated care context.
• Preferred: Experience in identifying patients who may need specialty psychiatric services or a higher level of care.
• Fully remote position.
• Up to 8 hours of availability per week.
• Weekdays only — no weekends.
