This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Massachusetts.
• Achieve sales objectives utilizing consultative selling techniques.
• Perform field sales activities within the assigned territory, visiting customers four days a week.
• Sustain and grow additional business within both existing and new accounts.
• Identify customer solutions by leveraging knowledge of proteins, antibodies, small molecules, cell culture reagents, and cell therapy products.
• Strategically plan and implement account management to meet objectives and align with the company's vision.
• Articulate product value propositions, features, benefits, competitive advantages, and applications.
• Utilize Salesforce CRM on a daily basis for scheduling, forecasting, and detailed documentation of customer information and opportunities.
• Conduct high-impact meetings with scientists at various levels, whether virtually or in person.
• Present the complete product portfolio and discuss specific products or services with pharmaceutical, government, and academic accounts.
• A Bachelor’s degree in biological or medical sciences, or a related field is required.
• A minimum of three years of proven experience in life sciences sales is necessary.
• Advanced degrees may be accepted in place of industry experience.
• A comprehensive understanding of the scientific principles underpinning Bio-Techne products is essential.
• Proficient in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and Salesforce CRM.
• Competent computer entry and/or typing skills.
• Capacity to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks.
• Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
• A valid driver’s license is required.
• Capability to schedule meetings at restricted pharmaceutical accounts.
• Familiarity with reagents, laboratory techniques, methods, and equipment used in the research, development, and production of pharmaceuticals and biologics.
• Insight into the organizational structures of pharmaceutical, biotech, academic, and government sectors.
• Ability to assess and understand customer needs, recommending suitable products and solutions.
• Proficient in working both independently and as part of a team.
• Strong organizational skills for planning and multitasking effectively.
• In-depth understanding of customer needs gained through prior lab experience.
• Modern prospecting skills coupled with sound business acumen.
• Proven experience with CRM systems for documenting sales processes and customer information.
• Previous experience in consultative selling within a scientific context is required.
• Ideally located in Massachusetts within 45 minutes of Boston/Cambridge; candidates from outside Massachusetts must be prepared to relocate before the start date.
• Must have work authorization that does not currently or will not in the future require visa sponsorship in the United States.
