This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.
• Oversee, inspect, assess, negotiate, and resolve first-party property claims.
• Conduct in-person evaluations at clients' homes and properties to determine damage extent.
• Review, investigate, and document first-party property claims with minimal supervision.
• Manage personal insurance claims with limited oversight and elevated authority.
• Start handling business insurance claims under direct supervision.
• Collect information from policyholders, claimants, and third-party vendors.
• Investigate and analyze pertinent facts and documents, including leases, contracts, and by-laws.
• Assess and apply coverage for property damages in accordance with policy provisions.
• Establish precise scopes of damage to buildings and contents.
• Prepare written estimates and/or computer-assisted estimates with managerial guidance.
• Engage with customers, representatives, vendors, and internal stakeholders.
• Negotiate with contractors and representatives of the insured with assistance.
• Maintain accurate records of claim activities in claim management systems.
• Adapt to technology implementations, system enhancements, and AI-related digital tool launches.
• Evaluate and inspect residences and structures, including roofs, attics, crawl spaces, and confined spaces.
• Travel frequently, including overnight stays, to assist customers in various locations.
• Perform additional assigned duties.
• Bachelor's Degree required.
• Minimum of two years' experience in property claims.
• Active adjuster license, if applicable.
• Proficient in claims management and estimating software.
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Office and enterprise technology systems and platforms.
• Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
• Capacity to exercise sound judgment and make effective decisions.
• Exceptional customer service aptitude.
• Keen attention to detail and organizational abilities.
• Capability to manage multiple tasks and set priorities effectively.
• Proven conflict resolution skills.
• Ability to handle stress while maintaining composure and professionalism.
• Basic understanding of insurance principles, terminology, state insurance regulations, and claims handling requirements.
• Quick learner who can apply experience to new situations.
• High School Diploma or GED is necessary.
• One year of property or related claims experience, or successful completion of the Travelers Claim Representative training program.
• Valid driver's license required.
• Must be able to reside in or relocate at personal expense to the assigned territory.
• Must be able to carry, set up, and climb ladders weighing between approximately 38–49 pounds.
• Must obtain and maintain relevant insurance license(s) and/or UAS Remote Pilot Certification within three months of employment start date.
