Property Claim Representative

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New Jersey, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Oversee, assess, review, negotiate, and resolve first-party property claims.

• Conduct in-person inspections at the residences and properties of customers.

• Examine, investigate, and document property claims with limited supervision.

• Collect information from policyholders, claimants, and third-party vendors.

• Analyze leases, contracts, by-laws, and other pertinent documents.

• Identify and apply coverage for property damages in accordance with policy terms.

• Define the extent of building and contents losses.

• Create written and computer-assisted estimates with guidance from management.

• Engage professionally with customers, representatives, vendors, and internal stakeholders.

• Negotiate terms with contractors and insured representatives.

• Maintain precise records of claim activities in claim management systems.

• Adapt to technological advancements, system upgrades, and AI-related digital tools.

• Evaluate and inspect dwellings and structures, including roofs, attics, and crawl spaces.

• Travel to assist customers in various locations.

• Carry out other assigned responsibilities.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree.

• Minimum of two years of experience in property claims.

• Active adjuster license, where applicable.

• Proficiency in claims management and estimating software.

• Advanced skills in Microsoft Office and enterprise technology systems and platforms.

• Strong verbal and written communication capabilities.

• Good judgment and effective decision-making skills.

• Exceptional customer service abilities.

• Keen attention to detail and organizational skills.

• Conflict resolution expertise.

• Capacity to manage stress and uphold professionalism under pressure.

• Basic knowledge of insurance principles, terminology, state insurance regulations, and claim handling requirements.

• High School Diploma or GED is required.

• One year of property or similar claim-related experience or successful completion of Travelers Claim Representative training program.

• Valid driver's license.

• Ability to obtain and maintain relevant Insurance License(s) and/or UAS Remote Pilot Certification within three months of employment.

• Capability to inspect confined spaces and carry, set up, and climb ladders weighing approximately 38–49 pounds.

• Willingness to travel extensively, including overnight stays.
