
Property Accountant, Affordable Housing Experience

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida.
• Oversee third-party accounts while documenting income, expenses, assets, and liabilities on a monthly basis.
• Execute banking operations, including wires, transfers, and deposits.
• Conduct internal audits to ensure property compliance.
• Utilize RealPage/OneSite and other property management systems to keep records up to date.
• Manage accounting records and reporting for affordable housing properties, ensuring adherence to LIHTC and HUD standards.
• Carry out monthly closing activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, and reports in accordance with GAAP.
• Assist with property budgeting and input finalized budgets into the accounting system.
• Reconcile bank accounts and address discrepancies through adjusting journal entries.
• Archive supporting documents and documentation following company guidelines.
• Validate delinquency reports, prepaid rent journals, and security deposit ledgers.
• Oversee property cash flow and coordinate along with reviewing accounts payable.
• Support year-end audits and tax preparation.
• Produce accurate monthly financial reports by set deadlines.
• Process requests for replacement reserve draws and facilitate repair submissions.
• Monitor and ensure compliance with lender reporting requirements.
• Communicate professionally with clients via email, video, and phone.
• Maintain a professional demeanor while prioritizing customer service.
• A Bachelor’s degree is required.
• An accounting major is highly preferred.
• A minimum of 2 years of directly relevant property accounting experience is highly preferred.
• Strong administrative and organizational abilities coupled with excellent time management skills.
• Capability to manage confidential and sensitive information with professionalism.
• Ability to thrive under pressure, prioritize tasks, multitask, and meet deadlines efficiently.
• Capacity to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, high-volume setting.
• Proficient in MS Office Suite, including Outlook, Teams, Word, and Excel.
• Experience with databases is preferred; familiarity with Yardi and Resman is a plus.
• A valid driver’s license, current automobile insurance, and reliable transportation are required.
