Project Manager – Retail Bank Construction, Ground-Up/Fit-Outs

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in North Carolina.

📋 Description

• Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of retail banking branch construction projects from the ground up and fit-out phases.

• Manage various branch renovation and retail banking enhancement projects from their initiation to completion.

• Coordinate efforts among banking clients, architects, engineers, contractors, vendors, facilities teams, and regulatory bodies.

• Develop, track, and uphold project schedules, milestones, critical paths, and delivery commitments.

• Implement project governance, standards, processes, and reporting frameworks.

• Prepare status reports, executive summaries, risk registers, and updates for leadership.

• Supervise branch renovations to ensure adherence to design standards, brand specifications, security protocols, and operational requirements.

• Manage project budgets, forecasts, change orders, and cost control measures.

• Minimize disruptions to branch operations, customers, and staff during renovation works.

• Monitor design development, permitting, procurement, construction progress, and project closure.

• Assess contractor and consultant performance regarding quality, safety, schedule, and budget goals.

• Review project documentation, including drawings, schedules, budgets, and contractor deliverables.

• Lead the resolution of field conditions, RFIs, change requests, and operational challenges.

• Identify project risks and formulate strategies for mitigation.

• Support value engineering initiatives and suggest cost-effective solutions.

• Ensure adherence to building codes, accessibility standards, life safety requirements, and banking security guidelines.

• Maintain client relationships and act as a trusted advisor.

• Identify opportunities for program enhancements, process efficiencies, expanded services, and future project initiatives.

• Assist in business development efforts.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, Project Management, or a related discipline.

• 5+ years of experience in managing retail and/or banking ground-up and/or fit-out construction projects.

• Experience in overseeing multi-site retail construction projects and fast-track project delivery environments.

• Solid understanding of project management methodologies, budgeting, scheduling, risk management, and construction administration.

• Proficient in Microsoft Project, Primavera P6, Excel, and various project management software platforms.

• Exceptional communication, stakeholder management, leadership, and problem-solving abilities.

• Willingness to travel 25%-30% regionally to project sites as necessary.

• SOX control responsibilities may apply where applicable.

• On-site presence and requirements may vary based on client needs.
