Project Manager – Infrastructure and IT Operations

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Romania, +1 more country.

📋 Description

• Oversee infrastructure and IT operations projects for enterprise clients in Western Europe, focusing primarily on managed service providers and financial institutions.

• Take ownership of the delivery of assigned projects, ensuring adherence to scope, schedule, budget, and quality standards.

• Maintain the project plan, responsibility matrix, risk register, and provide regular reporting to both client and internal stakeholders.

• Manage project scope in relation to the statement of work; identify changes, prepare change requests, and evaluate commercial and schedule impacts.

• Guide the project team alongside the solution architect and technical leads while managing team capacity effectively.

• Conduct steering committees and status reviews, escalate decisions as necessary, and manage client expectations.

• Coordinate delivery with client change and release management, including maintenance windows and production teams.

• Oversee acceptance by establishing criteria, coordinating testing, and securing formal sign-off.

• Transition delivered environments to managed service operations, including the operating model and service levels.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in managing IT projects, with at least 3 years focused on infrastructure, IT operations, or cloud projects.

• Proven delivery experience in at least two of the following areas: operations automation, patch and vulnerability management, observability, virtualization or private cloud, public cloud, and migration programs.

• Experience in delivering projects both on-premises and in public cloud environments, with a solid understanding of hybrid constraints.

• Fixed-price delivery experience, including scope control, change management, and accountability for project margins.

• Background working with enterprise clients, leading steering committees, and managing stakeholders at the management level.

• Technical literacy to engage in discussions about architecture, automation, and monitoring tools with architects and engineers, without performing the engineering tasks personally.

• Proficiency in planning, estimation, risk management, and reporting in classic, agile, or hybrid project models.

• Familiarity with Jira and Confluence.

• Proficient in English at C1 level for conducting project meetings, negotiating scope, and producing client documentation.

• Knowledge of security projects, including infrastructure hardening, vulnerability management, security monitoring, or ISO 27001, NIS2, or DORA controls.

• Familiarity with identity and access management projects, including directory services, single sign-on and federation, privileged access management, and access reviews.

• Experience in transitioning environments into managed service operations, focusing on service design, service levels, and operational processes.

• PRINCE2 or PMP certification with ITIL, or proficiency in German or Dutch.
