This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Iowa, +5 more states.
• Assembles project teams and delegates individual responsibilities to ensure that technical skills, capabilities, and expertise align with project goals.
• Creates and communicates project scope in collaboration with technical teams, while coordinating schedule and budget with the project team, client, and contractors, serving as the primary liaison by keeping all parties informed of project progress and challenges.
• Develops project budgets, reviews expenditures, and monitors compliance with the planned budget to ensure client satisfaction and contribute to the execution and financial success of projects.
• Secures the necessary resources for all project phases, ensuring timely completion of tasks.
• Collaborates with the project team to develop a quality management plan that meets both client and firm standards.
• Identifies potential risks or additional costs within project plans and implements strategies to mitigate impact.
• Organizes and leads regular project meetings with the client and project team to ensure alignment on project expectations and performance.
• Documents all project deliverables and maintains records, including correspondence, design plans, and other project-related files.
• Fosters and maintains strong relationships with clients to secure future projects.
• Coordinates contract negotiations and develops skills and understanding of the unique contract negotiation and billing requirements of other technical disciplines.
• Mentors team members on project management best practices using Olsson Project Management programs and other project assurance service resources.
• Ensures project data is maintained according to documentation requirements.
• Complies with regulations and enforces safety standards.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, sciences, construction, planning, or a related field is preferred.
• At least six years of project experience in the Architecture, Engineering, and Construction industry with increasing levels of responsibility.
• May possess Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent Project Management certification or degree.
• Proficient in managing projects in accordance with Olsson’s PM Statement of Expectations.
• Successfully completes Olsson’s Project Management Development training and Olsson’s Quality Management training within 12-18 months.
• Knowledgeable in engineering and design terminology, contract requirements, project financials, and operations.
• Demonstrates excellent client service orientation, communication, and presentation skills.
• Possesses strong interpersonal and decision-making abilities, and can generate innovative and effective solutions to complex issues.
• Exhibits high-level organization, leadership, and negotiation skills.
• Has a thorough understanding of how the firm operates as a consulting business and how this role contributes to the organization’s success.
• Holds a valid driver’s license with a good driving history.
