This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Plan and oversee the comprehensive delivery of assigned heavy civil projects, focusing on risk identification, project planning, and the implementation of contingency measures.
• Ensure that projects are executed safely, on time, within scope and budget, while adhering to regulatory, environmental, and health and safety standards.
• Cultivate and sustain robust client relationships, managing expectations and resolving issues to guarantee client satisfaction.
• Exhibit proactive leadership in health, safety, and environmental protection across all projects.
• Ensure that construction aligns with approved plans, specifications, shop drawings, quality standards, and relevant codes.
• Collaborate with the project team to develop and maintain construction schedules that meet milestones and completion deadlines.
• Lead, mentor, and inspire construction teams to accomplish project objectives.
• Monitor, manage, and report on project financials, including forecasting and billing.
• Oversee procurement activities, managing negotiations and awards for subcontractors, trades, and suppliers.
• A degree or diploma in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related technical field, or an equivalent combination of formal education and significant hands-on experience in heavy civil construction.
• At least 5 years of progressive experience managing heavy civil construction projects, demonstrating accountability for schedule, cost, quality, and safety performance.
• Proven capability to handle multiple priorities, meet stringent deadlines, and lead project teams in dynamic, field-oriented settings.
• Strong leadership qualities with the ability to motivate, mentor, and collaborate effectively with superintendents, forepersons, and crews.
• Excellent communication skills, confidently engaging with clients, consultants, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal stakeholders through various verbal, written, and electronic means.
• Experience in hydroelectric or hydro-related projects is considered a significant advantage.
• A valid Class 5 Driver’s Licence and a willingness to travel to project sites as needed throughout British Columbia.
