Project Manager – Electric Distribution

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Wisconsin.

📋 Description

• Manage a portfolio of electric distribution design initiatives and programs, encompassing both overhead and underground projects, system enhancements, and modernization activities.

• Take ownership of scope, timelines, budget, quality, and risk across multiple simultaneous projects.

• Act as the primary liaison for utility clients.

• Coordinate efforts among designers, engineers, and technical leads.

• Supervise project financials, including forecasting, fee tracking, and management of changes.

• Ensure adherence to industry and client standards, permitting prerequisites, and regulatory requirements.

• Assist with permitting and facilitate coordination with municipalities, Departments of Transportation (DOTs), and joint-use utilities.

• Provide construction support and address design-related challenges during the building phase.

• For Senior Project Managers, mentor fellow PMs and technical leads, contribute to program strategy formulation, and aid in client account expansion.

• Support high-volume distribution design, Voltage Optimization, Distribution Automation, and programs driven by municipalities and DOT relocations.

⛳️ Requirements

• Experience in project management related to electric distribution or utility infrastructure programs, or other engineering/construction fields.

• Proven ability to manage scope, schedule, and budget within a consulting or utility-facing context.

• Excellent communication abilities and comfort in direct engagement with utility clients.

• Strong leadership and team management capabilities.

• Capacity to lead cross-functional teams and maintain progress in a deadline-driven setting.

• Expertise in forecasting and financial management, particularly in a Fixed Fee and Unitized framework.

• Comprehensive understanding of industry standards, regulatory stipulations, and technical advancements.

• Prior experience with large electric utilities (preferred).

• Familiarity with distribution design processes, permitting, and construction support (preferred).

• Experience overseeing program-based or unitized projects (preferred).

• PMP or comparable certification (preferred).
