Project Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Romania, +1 more country.

📋 Description

• Oversee infrastructure and IT operations projects for enterprise clients across Western Europe, primarily focusing on managed service providers and financial institutions.

• Take full ownership of project delivery, ensuring adherence to scope, timeline, budget, and quality standards.

• Maintain essential project documentation including the project plan, responsibility matrix, risk register, and regular reporting to clients and internal stakeholders.

• Monitor project scope in relation to the statement of work; identify modifications, prepare change requests, and evaluate their commercial and scheduling impacts.

• Lead the project team alongside the solution architect and technical leads, while effectively managing team capacity.

• Conduct steering committee meetings and status reviews, escalate decisions as necessary, and manage client expectations proactively.

• Coordinate project delivery with client change and release management, ensuring alignment with maintenance windows and production teams.

• Facilitate acceptance by establishing criteria, coordinating testing efforts, and obtaining formal sign-off.

• Transition delivered environments to managed service operations, including establishing the operating model and service levels.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years of experience managing IT projects, with at least 3 years focused on infrastructure, IT operations, or cloud projects.

• Proven delivery experience in at least two of the following areas: operations automation, patch and vulnerability management, observability, virtualization, private cloud, public cloud, or migration programs.

• Experience delivering projects both on-premises and in public cloud environments, with a strong understanding of hybrid constraints.

• Experience with fixed price delivery, including scope control, change management, and accountability for project margins.

• Background working with enterprise clients, facilitating steering committees, and managing stakeholders at the management level.

• Technical proficiency to engage in discussions about architecture, automation, and monitoring tools with architects and engineers, without performing the engineering tasks personally.

• Expertise in planning, estimation, risk management, and reporting within classic, agile, or hybrid models.

• Familiarity with Jira and Confluence.

• Proficient in English at a C1 level for conducting project meetings, negotiating scope, and producing client documentation.

• Experience in security projects, including infrastructure hardening, vulnerability management, security monitoring, or compliance with standards such as ISO 27001, NIS2, or DORA.

• Background in identity and access management projects, covering directory services, single sign-on, federation, privileged access management, and access reviews.

• Experience in transitioning environments to managed service operations, including service design, service levels, and operational processes.

• PRINCE2 or PMP certification, complemented by ITIL knowledge, or proficiency in German or Dutch.
