This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.
• Oversee, plan, and coordinate several projects from initiation to completion, ensuring efficient workflows and timely outcomes.
• In addition to translation tasks, projects to be managed encompass print and multimedia elements such as desktop publishing, subtitling, voice-over, and e-learning modules, among others.
• Collaborate closely with account managers, engage in kick-off meetings, and deliver progress updates.
• Assemble and lead project teams, which include linguists, typesetters, technical support, and QA specialists.
• Develop and maintain strong partnerships with vendors.
• Oversee budget management and process purchase orders.
• Create and sustain linguistic resources including translation memories, glossaries, and style guides.
• Adhere to established quality assurance protocols.
• Communicate professionally with clients regarding production-related matters when necessary.
• Facilitate the client review process.
• Assist the sales team during the acquisition of new clients and their onboarding process.
• A minimum of three years of experience in managing translation/localization projects.
• Familiarity with multimedia formats is advantageous.
• A college degree in translation, communication, business, technology, or a related discipline.
• Exceptional English communication skills, both oral and written.
• Proficiency in one or more languages besides English is preferred.
• Strong computer skills, with experience in CMS platforms (Plunet, XTRF) and industry-standard CAT tools (memoQ, SDLTrados).
• Experience in multilingual typesetting processes.
• A flexible, goal-oriented team player who can also operate independently with minimal supervision.
• Excellent organizational and time management abilities, with a keen attention to detail and the capacity to multitask and prioritize effectively.
• Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities.
• Customer service-oriented, with the ability to proactively provide new solutions to meet clients’ evolving needs.
