Project Manager

📋 Description

• Oversee daily project management for intricate AMI and associated utility technology endeavors.

• Organize and coordinate projects from their inception to implementation.

• Create and manage comprehensive project plans, timelines, budgets, milestones, dependencies, resources, and deliverables.

• Facilitate collaboration among client teams, E Source subject matter experts, AMI vendors, system integrators, field deployment contractors, and other external partners.

• Address project risks, issues, decisions, actions, assumptions, and changes, ensuring prompt resolution and escalation when necessary.

• Conduct project meetings, executive briefings, workshops, and cross-functional collaboration sessions.

• Supervise vendor performance and adherence to contractual obligations, including milestones, deliverables, dependencies, and acceptance tasks.

• Manage AMI workstreams such as meter and network rollout, systems integration, testing, data preparation, operational readiness, and customer engagement activities.

• Provide decision-focused reporting on project status, timelines, budget, risks, issues, and forthcoming decisions.

• Maintain project documentation and governance, foster trusted client relationships, and identify opportunities for added value.

• Anticipate project resource requirements and oversee resource bookings.

• Track project financial performance to assist with monthly client billing and revenue projections.

• Assist with AMI feasibility studies, business case development, planning, procurement, implementation, deployment, solution design, system integration, testing, change management, and transition to ongoing operations.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of five years of project or program management experience in the utility sector.

• Proven experience in managing or supporting an advanced metering infrastructure (AMI) implementation for electric, gas, or water utilities.

• In-depth understanding of AMI program elements, including meters and endpoints, communications networks, head-end systems, meter data management systems, systems integration, testing, deployment, data management, and operational readiness.

• Experience in managing intricate project schedules, budgets, risks, issues, dependencies, changes, and executive reporting.

• Proficiency in project management tools and Microsoft Office applications.

• Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and relevant professional experience.

• Capability to coordinate complex, cross-functional technology implementations involving utility business teams, IT and/or OT organizations, vendors, system integrators, and field personnel.

• Exceptional facilitation and communication abilities with executives, technical teams, business stakeholders, vendors, and field staff.

• Skill in identifying project challenges, formulating practical action plans, facilitating decisions, and driving issues to resolution.

• PMP or a similar project management certification is preferred as an additional qualification.

• Familiarity with Microsoft Project or comparable scheduling tools is preferred as an additional qualification.

• Experience across various phases of the AMI lifecycle is preferred as an additional qualification.

• Must be authorized to work for any employer in the US or Canada.

• Willingness to travel up to 50%, based on project and client requirements.
