This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Kentucky, +2 more states.
• Create initial designs and specifications for engineering and materials, along with preparing project cost estimates.
• Perform research, feasibility analyses, and economic assessments.
• Establish design criteria in accordance with necessary standards and codes.
• Validate fieldwork and produce as-built documentation.
• Assess engineering projects for precision and integrity.
• Oversee project execution by directing vendors and contractors.
• Align project timelines with plant staff, vendors, contractors, management, and engineering teams.
• Guide equipment vendors on layouts, utility needs, and installation timelines.
• Evaluate consultant deliverables and suggest modifications.
• Maintain records including equipment manuals, mechanical and electrical schematics, parts inventories, specifications, and vendor/service contact details.
• Execute engineering planning, design, and operational assessments during pre-project evaluations.
• Define work scope, draft requests for proposals, and assess submitted proposals.
• Provide comprehensive progress reports to management by set deadlines.
• Manage contracts and review bid packages for adherence and thoroughness.
• Develop project justifications, budget evaluations, calculations, plans, and timelines.
• Supervise installations to ensure adherence to specifications and budget constraints.
• Oversee assigned budget activities throughout the project lifecycle.
• Continuously enhance knowledge of robotics and controls to implement innovative solutions.
• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited four-year college or university in Engineering or a related field, along with 5+ years of relevant experience; or a combination of education and experience deemed equivalent is required.
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a leadership role, including team development and management, is mandatory.
• Capacity to apply solid engineering principles to operational and design challenges.
• Familiarity with installation and construction project scheduling.
• Experience in layout and design.
• Proven experience managing a multi-million dollar budget.
• Strong Project Management capabilities.
• Skills in Contract Administration.
• Proficiency in interpreting national codes and standards.
• Competence in engineering economics.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and other Microsoft Office software.
• Willingness to travel to various locations 50% of the time.
• Knowledge of engineering principles and techniques related to food processing and the meat industry.
• Previous experience managing large-scale, multi-million dollar projects.
• Ability to collaborate effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
