Project Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alaska.

📋 Description

• Oversee project management throughout all phases including feasibility, design, planning, permitting, procurement, execution, commissioning, and optimization.

• Supervise contractors and assess their performance on infrastructure projects.

• Provide engineering guidance and assistance to both management and colleagues.

• Aid in determining project resource needs, budgeting, and scheduling for yearly capital allocations.

• Evaluate capital expenditure requests for technical and commercial approval within the corporate framework.

• Support regulatory compliance efforts, including the licensing and permitting of capital projects.

• Conduct routine compliance audits related to internal and external engineering standards.

• Maintain regular communication with site personnel and support operational activities.

• Challenge current operational processes with a focus on innovation and technological progress.

• Report directly to the Project Manager.

• Commit to a 21-days-on, 21-days-off rotating schedule, working up to 12 hours a day or more, at a remote campsite.

⛳️ Requirements

• A degree in Mining, Civil, Structural, or Mechanical engineering from an accredited institution, or equivalent experience.

• At least 1 year of relevant experience in underground operations.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

• Strong verbal and written communication abilities.

• Valid Driver’s License.

• Capability to pass a background check and a post-offer physical examination.

• Three to five years of professional project management experience with leadership roles in large projects (preferred).

• Familiarity with asset management systems (preferred).

• Experience in developing capital budgets for projects (preferred).

• Knowledge of regulatory compliance activities, including licensing and permitting for capital developments (preferred).

• Advanced computer skills with Microsoft Office, Pronto, and project management software (preferred).

• Adaptability to improved procedures and practices (preferred).

• Understanding of the Mine Safety and Health Administration (MSHA) Act and Regulations (preferred).

• Willingness to work a 21-days-on, 21-days-off rotational schedule and reside at the company-provided camp during work periods.

• Ability to work in extreme and fluctuating weather conditions, dust, mud, varying noise levels, changing light conditions, and confined spaces.
