Project Director – Hydro Projects

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Develop and execute the comprehensive project management strategy in accordance with the contract.

• Act as the representative of GE to the customer, overseeing the customer interface and relationship management.

• Handle both internal and external communications effectively.

• Allocate and secure the necessary resources for successful project execution.

• Organize the project team, establishing roles, responsibilities, interfaces, and empowerment structures.

• Track and report on key performance indicators.

• Take decisive actions to ensure optimal performance in financial, time, quality, and safety aspects.

• Establish, implement, and oversee Project Quality and EHS Plans and procedures.

• Develop a strategy for claim management and lead relevant actions.

• Define and revise risk management plans while assessing risks and opportunities.

• Oversee the project from the sales handover phase through to the fulfilment of obligations at FAC or handover to the Service Sector.

• Enhance project processes and provide constructive feedback to Sales and other business units.

• Build, mentor, lead, and assess the project team.

• Create and manage the Master Time Schedule, ensuring project float is maintained for timely completion.

⛳️ Requirements

• A university degree in engineering.

• Between 5 to 15 years of relevant experience in the power generation industry.

• A minimum of 3 years of experience as a Project Director.

• Experience in international project execution.

• Background in large construction (EPC) and on-site experience.

• Proficiency in both French and English.

• Must pass pre-employment screening, including reference checks and background investigations.

• Must possess unrestricted work authorization in Canada.

• Experience in the hydroelectric industry is highly desirable.

• A university degree in Business Administration or an equivalent commercial background.

• Knowledge in contract law, claim management, and scheduling.

• Experience in legal and claim management related to Sales and Purchasing.
