This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New Mexico.
• Provide support to the architecture and engineering practice in Minneapolis as a Project Controller
• Ensure that assigned client projects achieve financial, scheduling, and performance objectives
• Analyze performance trends and prepare assessments, cost implications, and monthly project performance reports
• Recommend approval of contractor invoices
• Generate cost reports to track actual and committed costs of subcontractors/vendors against budgets
• Update forecasts utilizing earned value, discussions with project teams, and other resources
• Establish project budgets based on proposal estimates and assist Project Managers with project initiation and execution
• Facilitate the development of effective Work Breakdown Structures
• Relay budget, cost, and schedule analysis findings to Project Managers and project leaders
• Identify challenges and successes, formulating project recovery plans as necessary
• Lead meetings with project teams, Project Approvers, and Finance & Accounting
• Support purchase orders and subcontract agreements
• Oversee subcontractor/vendor expenditures against commitments and budgets
• Complete payment release documentation and monitor payments to subcontractors
• Assist Project Managers with updates and entries in Salesforce
• Collaborate with subcontractors regarding progress, schedules, and contract management
• Monitor KPIs such as earned value, cost and schedule performance, estimates to completion, and project deadlines
• Track unbilled amounts, invoicing, and aged accounts receivable
• Maintain data quality metrics, forecast end dates, and completion estimates
• Review client invoices and set invoice schedules based on contract terms
• Prepare and submit monthly reports for both internal and external clients
• Coordinate with Project Managers to fulfill contractual obligations
• Communicate with clients regarding invoicing, payments, contracts, and reporting needs
• BA/BS degree plus 4 years of relevant experience in project controls or a demonstrated equivalent of experience and/or education
• US Citizenship is required
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel
• Capability to effectively lead the project controls function across both small and large projects within a vast portfolio and among multiple project managers
• Previous experience in engineering, construction management, or a related field is preferred
• Over 8 years of relevant project controls experience is preferred
• In-depth understanding of project planning and scheduling techniques, practices, and earned value methodology
• Basic knowledge of Federal Contract Requirements, or a willingness to learn
• Ability to read and comprehend client contracts and subcontracts
• Detail-oriented, efficient, and well-organized
• Competence in prioritizing and fulfilling the demands of multiple competing projects
