Controller

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in District of Columbia, +2 more states.

📋 Description

• Oversee the financial closing process and manage daily accounting functions

• Administer the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system

• Supervise financial audit activities

• Provide leadership and mentorship to the accounting team

• Ensure compliance with FAR/CAS/DCAA regulations in financial operations and internal controls

• Manage structures for indirect cost rates and submissions of incurred costs

• Direct closing processes and prepare GAAP-compliant financial reports, including general ledger, accounts payable/accounts receivable, cost accounting, and submissions required by government entities

• Oversee cost allocation, indirect rates (Fringe, Overhead, G&A), contract pricing, and collaborate with contracting officers and auditors on annual incurred cost submissions

• Collaborate with program and business development teams

• Manage ERP security and provide audit support

• Assist with payroll reconciliation, annual financial audits, budgeting/reforecasts, and compliance with multi-state tax regulations

• Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting throughout the organization

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline

• CPA Certification

• Over 9 years of accounting experience, with at least 5 years in government contracting

• Extensive knowledge of FAR, CAS, and DCAA audit standards

• Experience in developing indirect cost rates and managing incurred cost submissions

• High level of proficiency in Deltek Costpoint

• Strong understanding of GAAP accounting principles

• Excellent analytical, leadership, and communication capabilities

• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Teams

• Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, or an MBA is preferred

• Familiarity with ERP systems and financial automation tools is preferred

• Previous experience with healthcare or technology-oriented government contractors is preferred
