This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New Mexico.
• Assist the Minneapolis architecture and engineering team in the role of Project Controller.
• Ensure that designated client projects achieve financial, schedule, and performance objectives.
• Oversee project controls for both small and large projects, collaborating with multiple project managers.
• Analyze performance trends and compile cost-impact assessments along with monthly project performance summaries.
• Recommend approval for contractor invoices.
• Generate cost reports that track actual and committed costs from subcontractors and vendors against budgets.
• Revise forecasts by utilizing earned value, discussions with the project team, and additional tools.
• Develop project budgets based on proposal estimates and support project setup and execution.
• Facilitate the creation of effective Work Breakdown Structures.
• Share budget, cost, and schedule analysis findings with project managers and leaders.
• Identify challenges and successes, formulating plans for project recovery.
• Conduct meetings with project teams, Project Approvers, and Finance & Accounting departments.
• Establish purchase orders and subcontract agreements through procurement.
• Supervise subcontractor and vendor spending against established commitments and budgets.
• Complete payment-release documentation and monitor payments to subcontractors.
• Support Project Managers with Salesforce data entries and updates.
• Coordinate with subcontractors regarding project progress, schedules, and contract management.
• Monitor key performance indicators like earned value, cost and schedule performance, estimate to completion, and project deadlines.
• Track unbilled work, invoicing, and aging accounts receivable, providing updates to management.
• Maintain forecasted completion dates and monthly/quarterly completion estimates.
• Review client invoices and set up invoice schedules.
• Prepare and submit monthly reports for both internal and external clients.
• Collaborate with project managers to ensure compliance with contractual obligations.
• Engage with clients regarding invoicing, payments, contracts, and reporting.
• BA/BS degree and 4 years of relevant experience in project controls, or an equivalent combination of experience and education.
• US Citizenship is mandatory.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is essential.
• Ability to lead the project controls function for both small and large projects within a diverse portfolio.
• Experience with project planning, scheduling methodologies, practices, and earned value concepts.
• Preferred: 8+ years of relevant project controls experience in engineering, construction management, or a related field.
• Familiarity with, or a willingness to learn, basic Federal Contract Requirements.
• Capability to read and comprehend client contracts and subcontracts.
• Ability to manage multiple competing project priorities effectively.
