This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New Mexico.
• Assist the architecture and engineering team in Minneapolis as a Project Controller.
• Ensure that client projects adhere to financial, scheduling, and performance goals.
• Analyze performance trends and generate analyses, cost-impact studies, and monthly performance reports for projects.
• Make recommendations for contractor invoices to be approved.
• Create cost reports that track actual and committed expenses of subcontractors/vendors against allocated budgets.
• Revise forecasts utilizing earned value, discussions with the project team, and other methodologies.
• Develop project budgets based on proposal estimates and support Project Managers in project initiation and execution.
• Facilitate the creation of efficient Work Breakdown Structures.
• Present budget, cost, and schedule analysis findings to Project Managers and project leaders.
• Detect issues and successes, devising plans for project recovery as needed.
• Lead discussions with project teams, Project Approvers, and the Finance & Accounting departments.
• Provide assistance to procurement with purchase orders and subcontract agreements.
• Oversee spending by subcontractors/vendors against budgetary commitments.
• Complete the necessary paperwork for payment releases and monitor payments to subcontractors.
• Aid Project Managers in managing Salesforce entries and updates.
• Act as a liaison with subcontractors regarding their progress, schedules, and contract management.
• Monitor key performance indicators including earned value, cost and schedule performance, estimates to completion, and project deadlines.
• Track unbilled amounts, invoicing, and overdue accounts receivable, reporting findings to management.
• Maintain metrics for data quality, project end date forecasts, and estimates to completion.
• Review client invoices and set up invoice schedules in line with contract stipulations.
• Compile and deliver monthly reports for both internal and external clients.
• Interpret client contracts and subcontracts concerning scope, schedule, budget, and risk.
• Collaborate with Project Managers to fulfill contractual obligations.
• Engage with clients regarding invoicing, payment, contract, and reporting needs.
• Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) plus 4 years of relevant experience in project controls or an equivalent combination of experience and education.
• US Citizenship is mandatory.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively within teams.
• Capable of leading the project controls function for both small and large projects across a diverse portfolio and multiple project managers.
• Preferred prior experience in engineering, construction management, or a related discipline with over 8 years of relevant project controls experience.
• Comprehensive understanding of project planning and scheduling methods, practices, and earned value concepts preferred.
• Familiarity with, or a willingness to learn, fundamental Federal Contract Requirements.
