This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New Mexico.
• Assist the Minneapolis architecture and engineering team in the role of Project Controller.
• Ensure that assigned client projects achieve their financial, scheduling, and performance goals.
• Analyze performance trends and prepare cost analyses, impact reports, and monthly project performance summaries.
• Recommend the approval of contractor invoices.
• Create cost reports that track actual and committed expenses from subcontractors and vendors against established budgets.
• Update financial forecasts based on earned value, discussions with the project team, and other relevant tools.
• Develop project budgets from initial proposal estimates and support Project Managers in project setup and execution.
• Facilitate the creation of effective Work Breakdown Structures.
• Convey results of budget, cost, and scheduling analyses to Project Managers and project leaders.
• Identify both challenges and successes, and formulate project recovery strategies as necessary.
• Lead meetings with internal project teams, Project Approvers, and Finance & Accounting departments.
• Collaborate with procurement to establish purchase orders and subcontract agreements.
• Supervise spending by subcontractors and vendors against their commitments and budgets.
• Complete documentation for payment releases and monitor payments to subcontractors.
• Assist Project Managers with updates and entries in Salesforce.
• Coordinate with subcontractors regarding project progress, schedules, and contract management.
• Monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) such as earned value, cost and schedule performance, estimates to complete, and project completion dates.
• Track unbilled amounts, invoicing, and aged accounts receivable, and provide reports to management.
• Maintain metrics for data quality, forecast completion dates, and estimates to finish.
• Review client invoices and set up invoicing schedules in accordance with contract stipulations.
• Prepare and submit monthly reports for both internal and external clients.
• Read and interpret client contracts and subcontracts regarding scope, schedule, budget, and associated risks.
• Collaborate with Project Managers to ensure compliance with contractual obligations.
• Communicate with clients regarding invoicing, payments, contract details, and reporting necessities.
• BA/BS degree or equivalent experience and/or education.
• At least 4 years of relevant experience in project controls, or an equivalent combination of experience and education.
• US Citizenship is mandatory.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
• Strong ability to prioritize and address the demands of multiple competing projects.
• Excellent communication skills with a capacity for teamwork.
• Capability to lead the project controls function for both small and large projects across a diverse portfolio and multiple project managers.
• Familiarity with project planning, scheduling methodologies, practices, and earned value concepts is preferred.
• Previous experience in engineering, construction management, or a related field is preferred.
• Over 8 years of relevant project controls experience is preferred.
• Basic understanding of Federal Contract Requirements or a willingness to learn is desirable.
