This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New Mexico.
• Provide support to the architecture and engineering practice in Minneapolis as a Project Controller.
• Ensure that the assigned client projects achieve their financial, schedule, and performance objectives.
• Analyze performance trends and create cost-impact assessments along with monthly project performance reports.
• Recommend approval for contractor invoices.
• Generate cost reports that track actual and committed subcontractor/vendor expenditures against budgets.
• Update forecasts utilizing earned value, discussions with the project team, and other relevant tools.
• Establish project budgets based on proposal estimates and assist Project Managers in project setup and execution.
• Coordinate the development of efficient Work Breakdown Structures.
• Communicate the outcomes of budget, cost, and schedule analyses to Project Managers and project leaders.
• Identify challenges and successes while developing project recovery plans.
• Lead meetings with project teams, Project Approvers, and the Finance & Accounting department.
• Assist procurement teams with purchase orders and subcontract agreements.
• Monitor spending by subcontractors/vendors against commitments and budgets.
• Complete payment release documentation and track payments to subcontractors.
• Support Project Managers with Salesforce entries and updates.
• Liaise with subcontractors regarding their progress, schedules, and contract administration.
• Monitor key performance indicators including earned value, cost and schedule performance, estimates to completion, and project completion dates.
• Keep track of unbilled amounts, invoicing, aged accounts receivable, and provide reports to management.
• Maintain metrics for data quality, forecast end dates, and estimates to completion.
• Review client invoices and set up invoice schedules in accordance with contract terms.
• Prepare and submit monthly reports for both internal and external clients.
• Interpret client contracts and subcontracts in relation to scope, schedule, budget, and risk.
• Collaborate with Project Managers to ensure compliance with contractual obligations.
• Communicate with clients regarding invoicing, payments, contracts, and reporting needs.
• BA/BS degree with a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience in project controls, or a demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
• US Citizenship is mandatory.
• Sponsorship is not available at this time or in the future.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is essential.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with teams.
• Capability to lead the project controls function on both small and large projects within a diverse portfolio.
• Previous experience in engineering, construction management, or a similar field is preferred.
• Over 8 years of relevant experience in project controls is preferred.
• In-depth understanding of project planning, scheduling methods, practices, and earned value principles.
• Familiarity with, or a willingness to learn, basic Federal Contract Requirements.
