This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New Mexico.
• Provide support to the Minneapolis architecture and engineering team as a Project Controller/Project Controls Specialist.
• Ensure that the assigned client projects achieve financial, schedule, and performance objectives.
• Oversee project controls for both small and large projects, collaborating with multiple project managers.
• Analyze performance trends and generate cost-impact assessments along with monthly project performance reports.
• Recommend approval of contractor invoices.
• Create cost reports that monitor actual and committed subcontractor/vendor expenses against budgets.
• Revise forecasts utilizing earned value, discussions with project teams, and other methodologies.
• Develop project budgets based on proposal estimates and assist in project initiation and execution.
• Facilitate the creation of effective Work Breakdown Structures.
• Share budget, cost, and schedule analysis findings with project managers and project leaders.
• Identify challenges and successes, and formulate project recovery strategies.
• Conduct meetings with project teams, Project Approvers, and Finance & Accounting.
• Collaborate with procurement to set up purchase orders and subcontract agreements.
• Supervise subcontractor/vendor expenditures in relation to commitments and budgets.
• Complete payment-release documentation and track payments to subcontractors.
• Assist Project Managers with Salesforce data entries and updates.
• Communicate with subcontractors regarding progress, schedules, and contract management.
• Monitor KPIs such as earned value, cost and schedule performance, estimates to completion, and project deadlines.
• Track unbilled amounts, invoicing, and aged accounts receivable, reporting to management as necessary.
• Maintain data quality metrics, including forecast end dates and estimates to completion.
• Review client invoices and establish invoicing schedules according to contract stipulations.
• Prepare and deliver monthly reports for both internal and external clients.
• Read and interpret client contracts and subcontracts concerning scope, schedule, budget, and risk.
• Coordinate with Project Managers to ensure compliance with contractual obligations.
• Engage with clients regarding invoicing, payment, contract, and reporting requirements.
• BA/BS degree plus a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience in project controls or equivalent combination of experience and/or education.
• US citizenship is mandatory.
• No sponsorship is offered currently or in the future.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
• Ability to prioritize and fulfill the demands of multiple competing projects.
• Strong communication skills with a capacity to collaborate effectively within teams.
• Proven capability to lead the project controls function across both small and large projects within a diverse portfolio and multiple project managers.
• Previous experience in engineering, construction management, or a related field is preferred.
• Over 8 years of relevant project controls experience is preferred.
• In-depth knowledge of project planning and scheduling techniques, practices, and earned value is preferred.
• Familiarity with, or willingness to understand, basic Federal Contract Requirements.
