This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New Mexico.
• Assist the Minneapolis architecture and engineering division as a Project Controller.
• Ensure that designated client projects achieve financial, scheduling, and performance objectives.
• Analyze performance trends and generate cost-impact assessments along with monthly project performance reports.
• Recommend the approval of contractor invoices.
• Compile cost reports that track actual and committed subcontractor/vendor expenses in relation to budgets.
• Update forecasts by utilizing earned value, discussions with project teams, and other methodologies.
• Establish project budgets based on proposal estimates and support Project Managers in project initiation and execution.
• Facilitate the development of efficient Work Breakdown Structures.
• Convey budget, cost, and schedule analysis findings to Project Managers and project leaders.
• Identify challenges and successes, and formulate project recovery strategies when necessary.
• Lead meetings with internal project teams, Project Approvers, and Finance & Accounting departments.
• Collaborate with procurement to set up purchase orders and subcontract agreements.
• Oversee subcontractor/vendor expenditures against commitments and budgets.
• Complete payment release documentation and monitor payment releases.
• Aid Project Managers with Salesforce entries and updates.
• Communicate with subcontractors regarding progress, timelines, and contract management.
• Track KPIs such as earned value, cost and schedule performance, estimates to completion, and project completion dates.
• Monitor unbilled amounts, invoicing, and aged accounts receivable, reporting to management accordingly.
• Maintain data quality metrics, forecast completion dates, and estimates to completion.
• Review client invoices and create invoice schedules based on contract stipulations.
• Prepare and deliver monthly reports for both internal and external clients.
• Interpret client contracts and subcontracts regarding scope, timelines, budget, and risk.
• Collaborate with Project Managers to ensure adherence to contractual obligations.
• Engage with clients about invoicing, payments, contracts, and reporting needs.
• BA/BS degree plus 4 years of relevant experience in project controls or a proven equivalent of experience and/or education.
• US Citizenship is mandatory.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively within teams.
• Capability to lead the project controls function on both small and large projects spanning a broad portfolio and multiple project managers.
• Previous experience in engineering, construction management, or a related field is preferred.
• Over 8 years of relevant project controls experience is preferred.
• In-depth understanding of project planning and scheduling methodologies, practices, and earned value concepts.
• Familiarity with or a willingness to learn basic Federal Contract Requirements.
