This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New Mexico.
• Provide support to the architecture and engineering practice in Minneapolis as a Project Controller.
• Ensure that assigned client projects achieve financial, schedule, and performance objectives.
• Analyze performance trends and create cost-impact assessments along with monthly project performance reports.
• Recommend contractor invoices for approval.
• Prepare cost reports that track actual and committed subcontractor/vendor expenses against budgets.
• Update forecasts utilizing earned value, discussions with the project team, and various other tools.
• Establish project budgets based on proposal estimates and assist Project Managers in project setup and execution.
• Facilitate the development of effective Work Breakdown Structures.
• Convey budget, cost, and schedule analyses to Project Managers and project leaders.
• Identify issues and successes, and devise recovery plans as needed.
• Lead meetings involving project teams, Project Approvers, and Finance & Accounting.
• Assist procurement with purchase orders and subcontract agreements.
• Monitor subcontractor/vendor expenditures in relation to commitments and budgets.
• Complete payment-release documentation and track payments to subcontractors.
• Aid Project Managers with entries and updates in Salesforce.
• Communicate with subcontractors about progress, schedules, and contract administration.
• Monitor key performance indicators such as earned value, cost and schedule performance, estimate to completion, and project deadlines.
• Track unbilled amounts, invoicing, and aged accounts receivable, reporting findings to management.
• Maintain data integrity for forecast end dates and monthly/quarterly estimates to completion.
• Review client invoices and set up invoice schedules according to contractual terms.
• Prepare and submit monthly reports for both internal and external clients.
• Read and interpret client contracts and subcontracts concerning scope, schedule, budget, and risk.
• Collaborate with Project Managers to ensure compliance with contractual obligations.
• Communicate with clients regarding invoicing, payment, contract, and reporting requirements.
• BA/BS degree plus 4 years of relevant experience in project controls, or a demonstrated equivalency of education and experience.
• US Citizenship is required.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
• Capable of leading the project controls function for both small and large projects within a wide project portfolio.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with teams.
• Preferred: experience in engineering, construction management, or a related field with 8+ years of relevant project controls experience.
• Preferred: comprehensive knowledge of project planning and scheduling methods, practices, and earned value concepts.
• Familiarity with, or a willingness to learn, basic Federal Contract Requirements.
