This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New Mexico.
• Provide support to the architecture and engineering practice in Minneapolis, MN as a Project Controller.
• Ensure that client projects meet their financial, scheduling, and performance objectives.
• Analyze performance trends and compile cost-impact assessments along with monthly project performance reports.
• Suggest contractor invoices for approval.
• Generate cost reports that track actual and committed costs of subcontractors and vendors against budget allocations.
• Revise forecasts utilizing earned value, discussions with the project team, and various tools.
• Develop project budgets from proposal estimates and assist Project Managers in project initiation and execution.
• Oversee the creation of effective Work Breakdown Structures.
• Relay budget, cost, and schedule analysis outcomes to Project Managers and project leaders.
• Identify challenges and successes, and formulate project recovery strategies when necessary.
• Facilitate meetings with internal project teams, Project Approvers, and the Finance & Accounting departments.
• Aid in the management of purchase orders and subcontract agreements.
• Track subcontractor and vendor expenditures in relation to commitments and budgets.
• Complete necessary paperwork for payment releases and monitor payments to subcontractors.
• Assist Project Managers with updates and entries in Salesforce.
• Coordinate with subcontractors on progress, schedules, and contract management.
• Monitor key performance indicators including earned value, cost and schedule performance, estimates to completion, and project end dates.
• Oversee unbilled amounts, invoicing, and aged accounts receivable, providing reports to management.
• Maintain metrics for data quality, forecast project completion dates, and estimates to completion.
• Review client invoices and establish invoicing schedules as per contract stipulations.
• Prepare and submit monthly reports for both internal and external clients.
• Analyze and interpret client contracts and subcontracts concerning scope, schedule, budget, and associated risks.
• Collaborate with Project Managers to ensure compliance with contractual obligations.
• Engage with clients regarding invoicing, payments, contracts, and reporting requirements.
• BA/BS degree with 4 years of relevant experience in project controls or a demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
• US Citizenship is mandatory.
• Sponsorship is not available at this time or in the future.
• Preferably, prior experience in engineering, construction management, or a related field with at least 8 years of pertinent project controls experience.
• In-depth understanding of project planning and scheduling methodologies, practices, and earned value is preferred.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with teams.
• Capability to lead the project controls function for both small and large projects across a broad portfolio and multiple project managers.
• Familiarity with or a willingness to understand basic Federal Contract Requirements.
