This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in North Dakota.
• Oversee project management for initiatives within the Grid Solutions Group.
• Manage material flow from the planning stage to the completion of projects.
• Maintain project timelines and keep precise databases of ongoing projects.
• Ensure that all necessary specifications are adhered to for projects in progress.
• Coordinate and assess customer requirements, pricing, products, competition, and procedures.
• Follow up on quotes after bid deadlines, clarify product specifications, resolve any outstanding issues, and develop timelines that meet customer deadlines.
• Complete assigned projects efficiently.
• Provide prompt follow-up on technical inquiries and requests.
• Conduct material takeoffs for bids involving wire and cable, transformers, splices, terminations, switchgear, apparatus, and specialty equipment.
• Create customer quotations in line with company profit objectives and guidelines.
• Assist in vendor negotiations regarding product pricing and delivery terms.
• Collaborate with the legal department for contract reviews and risk assessment.
• Complete project group job forms with relevant customer information.
• Oversee or support product application, estimating, procurement, material management, staging, kitting, storage, jobsite delivery, back hauling, and project closeout.
• Develop customer accounts, secure orders, and drive sales of products and services.
• Consult with engineers and developers throughout project lifecycles.
• Assist with purchasing, product evaluations, inventory management, pricing development, and related services.
• Contact vendors to obtain pricing information.
• Participate in training programs and assist with trade shows as necessary.
• Collaborate with Business Development Managers, Regional Managers, and sales staff to achieve sales and gross profit targets.
• Provide responsive, high-quality customer service while maintaining a balanced team workload.
• Preferred business or trade degree or equivalent work experience.
• Minimum of 2 years of customer service, quotation, or sales experience, with a strong understanding of electrical products and utility systems preferred.
• In-depth knowledge of product lines, applications, alternative product substitutes, and supplier pricing policies preferred.
• Proficient in reading, writing, and speaking English.
• Strong working knowledge of PCs for Windows, Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint), internet, email, and SAP software preferred.
• Technical understanding of electrical systems and product applications, with prior electrical distribution experience preferred.
• Ability to read specifications and drawings is highly preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication, reading, and customer service skills preferred.
• Capable of effective planning, organization, and teamwork.
• Ability to perform essential job duties with or without reasonable accommodation.
