Program Manager – State & Enterprise Programs

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of the delivery plan for each project across all workstreams, monitoring milestones, UAT cycles, and acceptance concerning each contracted statement of work.

• Facilitate the client engagement process for every project, which includes weekly status meetings, steering committee gatherings, escalations, and collaborative sessions with agency program personnel, legal teams, and state IT.

• Keep updated dependency registers and oversee client and company deliverables, deadlines, and documentation that support excusable-delay and change-order claims.

• Oversee scope management, capability traceability, negotiation of acceptance criteria, change requests, and the intake process for new projects.

• Generate deliverables for client assessment and keep Wonderschool leadership informed about potential portfolio risks.

• Collaborate with engineering leads on integration timelines with state systems, including ERP platforms, state data hubs, and single sign-on (SSO).

• Develop a repeatable program playbook as more states and enterprise clients are onboarded.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience in program or project management within complex software delivery environments.

• Preference for candidates with experience in government or regulated-industry clients.

• Proven track record in managing contractual milestones, UAT-based acceptance processes, and formal change control procedures.

• Excellent written communication skills for crafting status reports, meeting summaries, and acceptance criteria documentation.

• Capability to execute plans reliant on teams that the candidate does not directly manage.

• Strong preference for candidates with experience in child care programs within state government.

• Experience in state human services or eligibility systems, or familiarity with state procurement processes, is advantageous.
