Program Manager – Interoperability

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Manage the complete program lifecycle for interoperability call orders and features in accordance with management operational informatics pipeline and clinical operational informatics pipeline requirements.

• Spearhead the delivery of the eHealth Exchange program and product management, which includes partner onboarding, membership access, analytics, policy coordination, and performance monitoring.

• Supervise the implementation and ongoing support of ADT/eNotifications capabilities and assist with adoption for VA medical centers.

• Oversee interoperability initiatives that support VA/DoD shared health records, CHDR evaluation, JLV enablement, and interagency exchange use cases.

• Ensure that interoperability solutions are compliant with HL7®, FHIR®, CDA®, SNOMED CT®, LOINC®, and other applicable national interoperability standards.

• Collaborate with Integration and Clinical Informatics Solutions teams to confirm that interoperability features are integrated with enterprise data pipelines, dashboards, and clinical workflows.

• Maintain program risk registers, dependency logs, and mitigation strategies; report progress using required metrics such as flow efficiency, capacity allocation, value delivered, and planning for subsequent iterations.

• Ensure that deliverables comply with acceptance criteria as well as VA security, privacy, and data governance standards.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Master’s degree in Health Informatics, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related discipline.

• At least 15 years of experience in managing healthcare IT or interoperability programs.

• Proven experience in managing health information exchange (HIE) or standards-based interoperability initiatives.

• Experience in delivering projects within SAFe® or Agile environments utilizing Jira/Jira Align.

• Demonstrated knowledge of VA healthcare technology development and sustainment programs (e.g., ServiceNow, Federal EHR) as well as VA IT and data platforms (e.g., Corporate Data Warehouse (CDW), VistA/CPRS).

• Familiarity with eHealth Exchange, VHIE, JLV, or other interagency data-sharing initiatives.

• Preferred: Experience in supporting VA, DoD, or other federal health interoperability programs.
