This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama, +2 more states.
• Develop, execute, and oversee the programmatic structure and business operating system for the complete Factory Automation lifecycle, from defining requirements to commissioning.
• Establish and guide the business operating cadence for Project Horizon, which includes portfolio-level assessments of cost, schedule, risk, and technical performance.
• Take responsibility for the overall health of the Project Horizon Factory Automation portfolio, offering strategic direction and intervention to ensure program goals are achieved.
• Promote the standardization of tools, processes, and KPIs across Factory Automation projects to enhance predictability and facilitate data-driven decision-making.
• Lead long-term planning and resource distribution for the Factory Automation organization in collaboration with engineering, manufacturing, and finance leadership.
• Identify systemic risks and bottlenecks within the Project Horizon value stream and spearhead cross-functional initiatives to implement enduring solutions.
• Manage capital expenditure tracking for automation investments.
• Create and maintain savings models that quantify ROI, cost avoidance, and efficiency improvements against baseline metrics.
• Align stakeholders across Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Controls, IT/OT, Finance, and Program Management without possessing direct authority.
• Proactively identify schedule risks, budget discrepancies, and integration challenges, escalating these with recommended mitigation strategies.
• A minimum of a B.S./B.A. degree in engineering, program management, business, or a related technical field.
• Over 4 years of experience in an aerospace manufacturing or production setting.
• Proven experience in establishing and managing programmatic frameworks, which include budget oversight, integrated master scheduling, risk management, and performance reporting across a portfolio of projects.
• Experience in managing new product introductions and the transition from development to production at a systemic level.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and influence multifunctional teams in a matrix environment to embrace new processes and systems.
• Strong computer proficiency, including expertise in utilizing JIRA, enterprise scheduling tools, and the Microsoft Office Suite for program management.
• Project Management certification (PMP) or the capability to obtain certification within 6 months of hire.
• Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
• Preferred: Master’s Degree in an engineering discipline or an MBA.
• Preferred: Experience in aerospace, automotive, or high-rate production settings.
• Preferred: Familiarity with factory automation systems (robotics, PLC/SCADA, MES).
• Preferred: PMP or equivalent project management certification.
• Preferred: Experience creating executive-level dashboards and capital tracking models.
• Preferred: Comfort operating in ambiguous situations with minimal direction.
• Preferred: A proven track record of influencing outcomes across organizations without direct authority.
